The Science of Fasting (5 Viewers)

It is crazy what you have to look at and pay attention to. For instance, they say that a calorie or two, depending what kind of fast you're looking for, is okay. So I looked at the magnesium glycinate I am taking thinking that didn't have any calories. It's 10 CALORIES! So I may be wishing I had a magnesium tincture.
Tinctures are oil based which is calories. That's why I ordered Delta 8 vapes and am leaving the tincture alone. The odds are it isn't enough to interfere, but I will be damned if I am going thru all this trouble to risk forking it up lol

I've only ever taken one thing by tincture before and it was alcohol based.

I think I am ready to move to one meal a day fasting cycle. I ate at 11am today and wasn't really hungry but just did my eggs and salmon with some veggies.
I think it's super easy as long as you have no underlying issues that would cause you to get hypoglycemic. If I would get, as I call it, "shaky hungry", I'd eat. But while yesterday I was super hungry because of the blood sugar pinging I had done the night before, I wasn't "shaky" hungry so I waited 16 hours and then ate. We think hunger is an emergency but it isn't, in my humble opinion, unless you're hypoglycemic.

Of course, now I want eggs and salmon.

My go to are scrambled eggs, lemon butter salmon, roasted squash, zucchini, and Brussels sprouts.

I find that when I’m doing them I get hungry in very short waves that pass fairly quickly. It helps to be busy. On busy work days I hardly even have to think about it.

Good Lord I was freezing cold earlier.

Looked it up and apparently it's natural (and also probably confirms I wasn't doing a true fast previously) provided it isn't accompanied by shaking and sweating (hypoglycemia). Basically your digestive system is an internal heater and now mine had shut down. Additionally, it seems like your blood flow changes as well. That has passed and I can't stress enough that I feel really good (every now and then a little fatigued but mostly good energy) and my mood is better than it has been in a long time. My mood has mostly ranged between neutral and depressed for a long while now and as recent as October and November it was really bad. Today I took the dogs to the dog park and enjoyed being around strangers...I felt like myself again. I didn't feel like I had to put on a mask. And I am not hungry AT ALL. If I see something delicious on TV I'm just kind of like "that's nice...no big deal".

Guys I don't want to come off as pretentious or bragging. Being able to talk about my progress is really doing a lot to keep me focused and on point and I appreciate the people in this thread. In fact it was this thread that got me interested in it in the first place

lol, I know people don't want to hear us talking about fasting; but when I see people like my SIL and BIL who are very overweight and dealing with "pre-diabetes" or others with what are largely (but not all) diet-related issues, I want to scream to them JUST GIVE IT A TRY! I ain't tryin' ta live forever but what's wrong with trying to elongate the years or just feel better for the perhaps preordained years we've got? Eating copious amounts of cookies never fulfilled my destiny either.
