Garrapolo to Saints-OP speculation (Mod edit) (2 Viewers)

I've given this consideration, too. I still think, assuming he hits the market this season, that he could be a fallback plan if some other options don't work out, but as others have said, and I've come to better understand, his durability is a concern.

They cant trade him. He is supposed to get 24M this season. No one will trade for that contract. the dead cap money is only 1.4M if they cut him.

I suspect they will cut him and he will go to a place with no competition where he is guaranteed to be the starter.

I just don't think he chooses to come here.

If he gets cut Jimmy G getting more than 24 million. He has a very good track record

I just dont see him getting anything over $20M

If he got a contract for more than $24M that means he's making more than Lamar Jackson, Derek Carr, Matt Stafford, and Tom Brady.

He's getting paid like a top 10 QB, and he is NOT a top 10 qb.

AND he has durability issues. He's not gonna get more than his contract in SF.

The difference between JG and Winston is miniscule. Both make big plays followed by head-scratching plays. Winston is established in our system. I don’t see any upside in bringing in JG.
Winston seems to have more upside. Garoppolo seems like a slightly-above-average game manager. With Kamara and our defense, maybe the latter would be better?

What are their projected salaries?

His career completion percentage is near 68%, his career passer rating is near 99, he is 33-14 as a starter, and his TD to INT ratio is almost 2 to 1... If we are looking for a care taker to manage the offense while we run the ball and play defense... He fits that bill for sure.

All other considerations aside we as fans have no clue about in the real world (like money, future injury, or compensation).... I'd be interested in seeing him here under Sean's wing.

I think he's a better fit for this offense than either Taysom or JW as it stands today TBH.

Brees was essentially a game manager of CSP's offense that went for the jugular when it was clicking. He was the perfect fit for CSP's offense.

It's just a matter of time since they drafted Trey. I guess they'll see how the playoffs go before making a decision.
