Prepare yourselves for the annual Sean Payton to Dallas rumors . (1 Viewer)

I think McCarthy is gone. Team way underperformed. After getting off to hot start Cowboys were essentially a mediocre team.

There 12 wins was mainly fluff. They beat only 3 decent teams N.O, LAC and NE. If you want to throw in Eagles then 4. Final Eagle game dont count, Hurts didnt play. Eagles were trying to rest.

Nah nope. McCarthy took them to 12-5. He ain't going anywhere.
He didn't get the job done. I would expect Dallas to can him and move on. Jerry isn't getting any younger and wants another SB before he moves on.

I bet they'll move Moore into his position and then look for another DC since Quinn's D got manhandled.

Not that I'm worried about CSP leaving but, I would be more worried about him leaving for Chicago than Dallas. A choice between working with a young QB that could be a lot better with the right coaching or go to a team where your bathroom schedule is dominated by the owner?

It’ll come up over the next few days. The sports media talking heads will speculate. They always do. It will never happen though…..

First - Payton knows that Jerrah is unwilling to share any spotlight with his HC if his team is successful. Jerrah‘s ego won’t allow him to share credit. If the Saints are winning Payton receives nearly all the credit, Loomis is occasionally mentioned but only as an afterthought.

Second - the package of draft picks and players it would take for Loomis to consider trading Payton would be absolutely staggering - we’re talking half a decade of firsts and a couple of young starters. The trade package would be so huge it would cripple Payton’s new team for years.

Third - Payton would have want to want the trade. I can’t see Payton wanting to be in Jerry’s shadow or dealing with the massive organizational messes in Chicago or Las Vegas. Yes, the Saints salary cap is currently a disaster but it always is - Loomis will Loomis it and get most of the players Payton wants.

Finally - Jones (despite saying otherwise) will fire McCarthy and promote Moore. He was already burned by losing Payton. He won’t repeat that mistake.

If Jerry really wanted a Superbowl before he died, he'd hire a real GM and stop meddling with the team.
