If Cowboys want Payton (1 Viewer)

What don’t these idiots understand that he’s under contract right now

They played a clip of Michael Lombardi saying Payton is contemplating retiring and taking a year off.
They are still pounding the subject saying that the Cows are on the phone with Loomis trying to get Payton out of his contract. Now discussing draft picks. I got a hunch this is all test balloons coming from Jerrah

Sounds like they know more about what’s going on on Airline Drive than we do, lol

It must be the off-season when you get these threads pop up.

No coach that wants control over a team would even think about going to Dallas. And if anyone knows how Jerrah is, its SP. SP knows he would not be able to make personelle decisions without getting approval from Jerrah. SP gets what he wants in NO, what he says goes. Loomis and him work well together.

Every time someone proposes that we trade a good player or Coach Payton it reminds me of the old days before Mr Benson came along.
In those days We would get a player that turned out to be pretty good and before you knew it, he would be traded away. I remember the disappointment I felt when George Rogers (I think it was him) was traded for a pick and an “undisclosed sum of money”. That was the first time I realized that the organization either didn’t know how to win or just didn’t care.
Trade Payton?
No.
I never want to feel that way again.
If it happens, I’m done with the NFL.

I have been here since the beginning... 1967

We had an astronaut GM... We had retread Coaches.. We had an owner who every other week cried poverty to the state and wanted more $$$'... then when he got everything he wanted he still threatened to move

My point you ask?? We have STABILITY WE have never seen and few other franchises have experienced. DON'T MESS WITH THAT no matter what they offer.

We had zero NFL quality WR's.... Revolving door at OL... 4 QB's started... Yet we finished with a winning record and an eyelash from the playoffs....

again... DON'T MESS WITH THE STABILITY ON THIS TEAM

Hoping that control keeps him here as well.

Totally agree.

I think if and when he ever decides to leave, it will be his decision. I don’t think the Saints FO/leadership wants him to go, someday he may want to go. If that happens while he’s still under contract as he is now, they’d have to take what they could get compensation wise.

As I said earlier, this pops up every year, so someday the talking heads will be correct, he will either retire or go coach elsewhere.

Michael Lombardi doesn’t know jack

100%. They aren’t going to trade him unless he asks to be traded.

Who on this forum would turn down 3 No 1s, Cee Dee Lamb and Trevon Diggs for him? I would take no less but still not sure.
I'll take Lamb, Parsons instead of Diggs and the 3 firsts. If SP wanted to leave then of course you take the deal.

If Payton ever says he wants to be traded and it has to be Dallas, there isn’t going to be some massive dream haul in exchange.

You guys are thinking like he’d be open to going anywhere and the Cowboys having to outbid the Giants, Raiders, Dolphins, Bears...

You are kidding. If SP told our wonderful owner that he indeed wanted to get out of his contract and go to Dallas..... what? You think he gets a pat on the head, an honorary degree from Tulane and a coupon for Emerils?

Hell nah, he would have to keep his mouth shut while the trade is worked out.

And he wouldn’t keep his mouth shut lol
