Dane Brugler Projects Saints Taking Matt Corral in Latest Mock (1 Viewer)

The idiot's guide to creating a mock draft for any team.
1. Look at the team's current roster.
2. Pick a position where there is a perceived need.
3. Ignore best player rankings.
4. Mock a player that fits the perceived need.
5. Move to the team's next draft pick.
6. Pick the next weakest perceived position on the team. This is now the top perceived need.
7. Again, ignore best player ranking at all cost.
8. Mock a player that fits the new perceived need.
9. Repeat steps 5 thru 8 until all picks are complete.
So you're saying I can do a mock?

Matt Corral would be a great pick for us. But I think he will go earlier. You will have to trade up to get him. Which is totally worth it. MT coming back goes a long way to solving issues at WR. We can pick up a FA to challenge Trequan and Calloway. Harris is a good third. Book isn't the answer. Corral could be. Strong arm, good accuracy, good instincts and good character.

I don’t really disagree with QB; if we are unable to sign Jameis this off-season it becomes our biggest priority.

Competition breeds success; I don’t think a rookie QB will ever be our planned starter.

Noooooo. What moron comes up with this. A rookie QB does nothing to help this team especially Corral. I guess whoever made mock pick was asleep all season. Outside of Mac Jones this Rookie QB class performance was lackluster. It usually is with 1st year Qbs.

This team has a defense built for now. What its lacking is offensive weapons.

I actually think that Mac Jones is going to be a long term dud. My money is on Lance being the star of this draft.

Mac's season ceiling is pretty much what you saw this year...he'll never get past Mahomes, Burrow, or Allen

I see him being Jimmy G lite. Good stats less filling. Lots compare him to young Brady. Dont really see it.

These talking heads are a trip...last year they were all like "Ian Book is the steal of the draft"....now they all have us taking another QB this year....so were they all full of feces last year or are they full of it this year?
nobody called him a steal, in fact most bashed the Saints for taking him so high

We rarely go into a draft with a "need", so I expect Loomis to address any need prior to the draft so they can go BPA as usual.

idiot and dane bruglar sound never been in the same thread.

In what world does Coach stick to a particular type of player? It's pure fantasy to say that because Corral appears to be a better Hill that's what Payton would go after.

Nonsense...

Spot on. That's what the "draft experts do." They don't take into account teams that weigh best player available or best player available at a position of need heavily. Also, QB value seems to be very subjective to each team. If a team falls in love with a QB they will spend almost anything to get them so QBs that might actually rank low first or second round end up high in the first. Draft experts aren't going to have that information.

As for Corral, I don't see him as a future good to great NFL QB and don't think being "like Hill" means anything to Payton. Corral has the physical skills, but I don't think he's accurate enough or good enough in the pocket to be a great NFL QB. But, I'll leave that up to Payton to decide. If he thinks that Corral can become THE GUY, I'm fine with it. Yes, we do need WR, TE, and OL help, and Winston would be a good option at starting QB, but if Payton thinks Corral is THE GUY, and a better option than Winston, you take him and fill in with WR, TE, and OL in later rounds and with mid-level free agents. If you get THE GUY at QB then the rest can come together quickly in the next year or two. I mean with a starting QB on a rookie deal, you have money to spend on a top tier free agent WR.
