Oh hell no! Back when I was young and dumb(er), I had to work on the mast of my first ship. Had to climb all the way up to the TACAN (highest point on the ship). I remember being just a little worried but not panicked, plus we used restraints and "ball busters" on the ladders. But, I wouldn't do it now, that's for sure.

One summer I worked offshore and we were on a platform with a full drilling derrick - and a wire line on top of that (I was wireline assistant)
One of the roustabouts had kicked open a valve after doing ???
When everyone was on the platform they opened the pressure and oily bleeck just spews from the valve

We watch that stream for a sec and about 10 dudes slowly turn to look at me
So my monkey but had to cling that slick *** ladder (it’s probably only about 40 ft, but it’s been as high as 100 ft in certain retellings)
The one cool thing about it was the huge light up in the crane (it was midnightish) cast my HUGE shadow on the gulf

i got dizzy just watching the video.

not sure what happened, but about 3-4 years ago, i developed a fear of heights. Never had it before. I realized when i was handing Christmas lights and to reach an area of my home, i needed the full extension on a 24' ladder. I froze. literally - i couldnt get down for almost 10 min. Since then, when im at height ( but not in car, not in plane ) i cant look over side of cliff or off bridge. Yet when we rode up Pikes Peak, no issues. Flying looking out window...no issues. Almost like so long as im "encased" im ok.

That video freaks me out.
i feel like that on a 3' ladder. i already have tremors, but that sheet is intensified standing way up there. no issues looking over a handrail twelve stories up though. but sheet fork. ladders suck arse.

yeah yeah, just get the short jokes out of the way.

See, I didn't even have to say anything. :hihi:

this does not geehaw with concept of a GuidoMerkins at all. You have to be reimagined

So, the same thing is starting to happen to me to a lesser extent. A couple of years ago, I hiked Angel's Landing with my son in Zion National Park. You can google pictures of it, but basically, it's a ridge hike with a fairly narrow path with like a thousand foot drop on either side at points. And when you get to the end you can walk to an edge and just look straight down. No railings nothing. It's not a difficult climb, but there's usually someone who dies every couple years falling from it. Anyway, I did the hike no problem, took a picture with my son at the top, peered over the edge, etc. No real issues... but that night, when I was going to sleep I experienced vertigo for like the first time ever. It was weird. Since then, I've been way less confident at heights... it's like I trust my balance way less than I used to.

I also don't feel this when I'm in a car or plane or roller coaster.
