Bills defensive staff should be fired (1 Viewer)

Just like the Minny Miracle. I said the Bills should have had all 11 defenders be DBs and LBs and play a 6-5. 6 at 15 yards and 5 at 25 yards. Every rusher in that situation is wasted. Who is going to get open? As an alternative they should have held every receiver which would have only been a 5 yard penalty but clock would have run some seconds off.

Not squib kicking it was a huge mistake. If the Chiefs start their drive with 9 seconds, the game is over. They’d be throwing a Hail Mary on the second pass.
Even if they had squib-kicked it, who's to say a Chiefs ST defender doesn't catch it on his own 40, kneel it and all Mahomes has to do is complete one 20-25 passing play to Hill or Kelce, call a quick timeout to allow Butker to come in and kick a longer(but still makeable FG) that ties it and sends it to OT, anyway.

This is the right answer. Hold them twice, they get 10 yards to the 35 and probably have enough time for one play from there. The Saints have lost in some heartbreaking fashion, but that loss may take the cake.

Squib it right and it’ll be impossible for them to down it without burning a few seconds. Better yet, sky it to the 5 and force them to return it. Either is a far superior choice to kicking it into the endzone.

This sounded familiar, so I did a quick check and found a third penalty change by the league because of something the Saints were involved in. * The other two are the OT rules currently being discussed and the no extra point on a walk-off TD when the XP has no effect on the outcome of the game - from the Meaningless Miracle game where Morstead hobbled out to play defense on that last XP attempt by the Vikes.

Back in 2016, the 49ers deliberately held our receivers near the end of the first half. We got 5 yards and a first, but there were only a few seconds left so a FG was attempted instead of going for the TD. The rule enacted was teams can do this once, but then the second time, officials are expected to call the situation an unfair act, with a 15-yard penalty and restoration of the lost time on the clock.

Not sure if they played some kind of prevent D but it prevented them from winning josh Allen was a stud tonight

Didn’t know about the rule change. They should have done it once at least.

Hill and Kelce are pretty much nuts. No other WR/TE combo pulls that off.
With the space the Bills DBs gave them, most could have done it. Like everyone said, the kickoff should have been short of the goalline to ensure a runback. A runback would take at least 5-6 seconds off the clock leaving one play to get in FG range. Inexcusable.

you don't think both D's were gassed, just look at all the points scored in the last 2 min.
