Bills defensive staff should be fired (2 Viewers)

I get that they wanted to kick the extra point to make it a 3 point lead, but with 13 seconds left, keep the offense on the field for the 2 point conversion, and roll the QB. If you make it, great, they need a TD. If not, you at least burned a good 5 seconds out of the 13. Then a squib kick practically ends it.

does the clock run on 2pt ??

Sorry but not even the great Mahomes should have pulled that off with 13 seconds left. It was a horrible way to close that game for the Bills.
Believe it or not even an onside kick would have worked better for the Bills since it would have knocked off at least 5 seconds.

I was screaming at the TV. With 8 seconds left. The play is simple...tackle all pass catchers at the line. Give up the 5 yard penalty. Down to 2-3 seconds on clock and they have to throw a hail mary.

I dont understand...drunken bar me could figure that out in the moment but these defensive gurus opted instead to play prevent shell leaving the middle wide open to a team with time outs.

Do...Not.... Get.... it

The kickoff decision is on the head coach. Rushing four and not giving Hill special coverage should be on Frazier. Both Buffalo and Tampa DCs lost it at the end.

Me too. Then to sit there and watch the Bills' D give the Chiefs' two best receivers all that open space was just mind-numbing. I would have fired Frazier on the spot.

On the question of a squib kick though, I don't think that would have helped either. Couldn't they have just called a fair catch or take a knee? I've seen that done before.

This sounded familiar, so I did a quick check and found a third penalty change by the league because of something the Saints were involved in. * The other two are the OT rules currently being discussed and the no extra point on a walk-off TD when the XP has no effect on the outcome of the game - from the Meaningless Miracle game where Morstead hobbled out to play defense on that last XP attempt by the Vikes.

Back in 2016, the 49ers deliberately held our receivers near the end of the first half. We got 5 yards and a first, but there were only a few seconds left so a FG was attempted instead of going for the TD. The rule enacted was teams can do this once, but then the second time, officials are expected to call the situation an unfair act, with a 15-yard penalty and restoration of the lost time on the clock.

So, if they had squib or high ball kicked it short of the end zone, then done the holding penalty thing once, they could have killed at least 7 possibly 10 seconds off the clock and KC would have had no chance.

Special teams coordinator for the Bills should be fired.

Also they should have double teamed Hill and Kelce and had 2 d lineman instead of 4.

Yes, but then you screw them on field position. If you squib it well and the guy has to gather it at the 10 and then take a knee or fall on it, that's gonna cost at least 2-3 seconds.

But if you sky it to the 5 (all kickers should know how to do that), you force them to return it and basically leave one play OR they fair catch and start with horrible field position.

NFL isn't like college where you can fair catch at the 10 and it comes out to the 25.
