Saints expected to interview Aaron Glenn for HC (1 Viewer)

Not sure how I feel about this. I like him and thought he did well as DB coach here, but Detroit's D last year was quite bad.
I put him with the likes of Dan Campbell. Good coordinators and mentors but doesn't seem to fit as a good head coach candidates.

The Pederson talk has more wheels than just Hebert talking..Doesn't mean he will be our HC but an offensive minded coach with SB experience is kind of hard to ignore at this point. He checks all the boxes...Glenn has to be the most overrated candidate out there that I have seen mentioned. He will not get the job

If he were interviewing for the DC position that would give me some pause. But he's being interviewed for the Head Coach position. If Loomis (and company) are considering hiring Glenn to lead a staff that will remain in tact as it is (more or less) I won't worry too much about his lack of coordinating experience. He was on Payton's staff for several years. The man knows how to game plan.

is there even any news on him interviewing? or even interest in him outside of hebert?

No. There was speculation from Hebert and an article from some New Jersey paper suggesting it but nobody in the media has said that he is even scheduled for an interview. Some guy on here last night said he heard from a friend that has connections with the team that Pederson would be interviewed, but take that for whatever it's worth.

He may well get an interview, but the only people that we can confirm were asked to interview are Dennis Allen, Aaron Glenn, and Byron Leftwich. And, apparently, Leftwich is highly likely to get the Jaguars job if he hasn't already gotten it.

So far it's not even a let's do an actual search for a candidate. I can see Goodell finding a way to punish us if we hire DA without real outside candidates.

They also asked for permission to interview Leftwich. If they don't interview more than three people, I'll be disappointed by the search. But, I suspect they are just getting started. There are going to be issues setting interviews because we are very late getting started, some guys are already way down the road on jobs, and some guys may still be coaching in the playoffs.
