Change is good. Coach was ready for change, a new grind.I feel a little better. I think he's genuinely excited about the TV thing and if it takes off he'll go from there.
I was going to say the same thing, he won’t coach for at least 5 to 7 years if he is good at what he does.I feel a little better. I think he's genuinely excited about the TV thing and if it takes off he'll go from there.
If he stays in the booth for two years, he ain’t coming back, especially if he gets starts to call the Game of the Week.I was going to say the same thing, he won’t coach for at least 5 to 7 years if he is good at what he does.
If he doesn't coach for 5-7 years, he's not coaching again. He'd be 63+ by that time.I was going to say the same thing, he won’t coach for at least 5 to 7 years if he is good at what he does.
I think Dick Vermeil was around that age when he left broadcasting to coach the Rams. He was out of coaching for 10-15 years before that.If he doesn't coach for 5-7 years, he's not coaching again. He'd be 63+ by that time.
Yeah, but then Vermeil was more the exception than the rule. Time will tell I guess.I think Dick Vermeil was around that age when he left broadcasting to coach the Rams. He was out of coaching for 10-15 years before that.
My one counter argument is that once you coach at one place for sixteen years, you can’t use the Parcells bit about staying too long. Parcells longest tenure was eight years with the Giants with four year trips with the Cowboys and Patriots with a three year stint with the Jets. His entire career amounted to nineteen years. Sean’s entire career with the Saints almost equals Bill’s four stops. He is going to coach again and it's not gonna be 5-7 years down the road, the tv thing will be a brief breather for him but it will be very brief...He is listening to Parcells about not staying in one place too long as Bill has always advised
Considering Sean left and he gets advice from Bill all the time I would have to say you are reaching. The fact that he did stay 16 years and Bill doesn't believe in staying in one place too long would suggest he did just that, advise him to take a minor break and move on. Sean is going to coach again, if you are buying the tv gig thing as some kind of permanent retirement from football that's not happening. Like I said the Saints and the fanbase need to move on. Some are trying to hang on to him like some obsession with an ex gfMy one counter argument is that once you coach at one place for sixteen years, you can’t use the Parcells bit about staying too long.
