Saints to interview Brian Flores. (1 Viewer)

Yes, I see your able to follow along. Did you also read why I came to that conclusion, did you also not see the humor in my reasoning...

What's with the condescension? I was joking.

I get that the reason is because you didn't know that he came from the Patriots and that on first impression he seemed like the next Mike Tomlin. I get that once you realized that he was from the Patriots you had reasons not to like him.

Now, do you get that it's kind of funny that you proclaimed the guy the next Mike Tomlin while not knowing his history or that he worked in the Patriots organization?

I suppose you might be right, but if I'm the Dolphins front office, I don't want to scare off other possible candidates by making stuff up about the previous coach. And fwiw, I think it wasn't just the front office, but also some staff/players who commented on this as well. Maybe more to the story, but at first blush, this doesn't look like a good story for Flores.
Indeed. Teams will do their research. If he doesn't get picked up as a HC again, there may have been something to it.

Very prejudice to think multiple black coaches are not capable and all are only requested for HC interview to meet the Rooney rule, instead of because they’re actually qualified with successful coaching backgrounds
These same people actually think Taysom Hill is better than Lamar Jackson

Not really. He's a good coach in my eye, I just know that Patriot Way mentality does not always translate.

The current GM has been with the team since the 2000s, so I'm not sure faith I have in them as an organization. Most people say Flores is a good coach but there are more questions about the Miami organization. I mean they did get rid of Ireland and a bunch of other bad decisions. I agree a dispute between a coach and the front office is not good but if the front office has proven itself to be incompetent, whose side do you take?
I'm not talking sides. What I would say though is when interviewing Flores, just be sure he clearly answers those questions about what happened between him and the front office.

What would carry more weight with me is if he's having issues with others in the coaching staff. That concerns me more than the front office stuff.

In "those" people's defense, Lamar Jackson was horrible this season.
He certainly didn't play well, but he's been pretty amazing for the Ravens since he got there. Defenses have started to figure out how to stop him though. I think he'll adjust and be fine in the next season or 2.

I don't know about coaches because if you feel they aren't doing their job as a coach your job is to discipline them or replace them. I do agree that we need more information on what happened behind the scenes. Some people are no-nonsense people who don't sugarcoat things. His performance as a coach does have to be acknowledged, though.

Agreed. I guess you have to wonder was it the 1-7 start or the the long win streak? It's such a mixed bag. Hard to tell what's what there.

Do you think the Ravens are rethinking giving him an extension based on this year?

Not really. He's a good coach in my eye, I just know that Patriot Way mentality does not always translate.

Okay, but if you think he's the next Mike Tomlin then wouldn't that mean that you think that in his case it did translate?

If your wondering what all those neg reps are for its because you sound suspect right now. I don't care about color, gender, height, or shoe size. I want the best person for job who can make us forget this nightmare we are living right now.
I know its a pretty hot topic and people will read everything as they want to

I no way I disrespected the work those coaches do.

I do not care a single bit about color or heritage of any person in this world. The only thing that counts is their personality and what they are doing.

Still I believe that Allen is the best choice as he is familiar with our team culture, the way the Saints are built and working.

And this rule in my eyes doesn’t seem to account for equality for colored people. There shouldn’t be a need for a rule for this.
Every team should just hire the best guy (or girl) available! Period!

But I assume that it will still need a few more decades before humanity arrives at this stage of mind.
