Saints expected to interview Aaron Glenn for HC (2 Viewers)

To think I was preparing to be disappointed in us taking a lineman in the draft and now I need to get ready for a coach whose main selling point will be continuity and keeping the gang together. I'm not excited about Allen or Glenn (who I think is just a Rooney interview).

Yeah keeping Allen is raising our floor but certainly lowering our ceiling. It's a safe way to go, but not necessarily the right way to go. Got to risk it for the biscuit, like we did with Sean in 06.

Glenn was never seriously in the running, enough has been said about that already

Aaron checks the box. Announcing the request to interview Byron, while he is negotiating a contract in Jacksonville, makes it not look bad. Dennis will be announced in short order.

Really wish we conducted a search to identify the best coach. Hope DA well but this feels short sighted.
Has there been any indication from the team that they're going with Allen? Just seems like people assuming it's Allen when the search hasn't been concluded.

I think interviewing Glenn is very interesting, not that I think he will get the head coaching job.
But seeing what his observations on coaching while being with us compared to other teams. Getting a perspective from someone who has been here and left and getting information on what side the grass is greener from other potential suitors. I don't think Glenn is quite there yet though I do think he has developed players well and grown as a coach. Not that it's right or wrong about the how too's of the process... I think there is a ton of information to be learned from someone who was in your system and know as much as anyone about the main guy, DA, you may be looking to hire.

None of us actually have any clue about Aaron Glenn & his suitability as a Head Coach prospect. The most insightful thing to say is simply that he’s a total unknown quantity.

Aaron Glenn was a disappointment as the secondary coach here. Only to be reaffirmed by the new hire Richard. They are balling now with the same personnel.

Pass defense dropped from #5 in the league under Glenn (disappointing?) to #14 under Richard.

Trying to read between the lines with everything being said by Dan Campbell. He's genuinely nervous that the Saints would offer Glenn. He knows he's deserving of a shot as a HC and New Orleans would be a perfect start.
I've read quite a bit on all the coaches and my gut keeps telling me it's gonna be Glenn.

He’s I think my second choice if DA would be willing to stay.

Pass defense allowed 27, 22, 30, 27, 28 touchdowns in Glenn's five seasons.

The pass defense allowed 20 touchdowns under Richard, in a seventeen game regular season.

That is a substantial improvement.

Would you say the d line clicked a little better to help those secondary numbers?

Glenn may or may not end up being a good HC, but based upon the data available, his hire would fly in the face of logic and reason.

He's simply not earned a HC role in this league yet.

Yeah but… King Roger just released a statement saying that the lack of African-American HC’s is “unacceptable”.

They’re trying to force teams to hire these coaches, even if they’re not the best man for the job… it’s an over correction.

This increases the chances for Flores or Glenn… regardless of whether they are the most qualified or ready.
