Young couple goes on van tour of US, boy comes back with van - no girl (1 Viewer)

Yeah, no **** :mad1:
I'm interpreting this as the FBI putting a coda on the whole story and a tacit way of saying they won't be looking at the Laundry parents for any charges such as obstruction of justice which a lot of people want.

Why don't they release the contents of the notebook? Maybe he has some artistic drawing skills and drew some Muppets or something. On a serious note, nothing has been shown except a van. No Gabby Petito body and no Brian Laundrie bones or notebook.

Some just don't trust the media, it's from years of lies maybe?!?!

Not trying to derail a dying thread, but the clip shows a humorous view point, rather than reality. The news media should be called the bad news media, since it really only tells horrible stories about 80% of the time.

This clip pretty much encompasses what I think of the news media......Bad News Media.

It this is part of the issue right?
You’re complaining about a story that has a bearing on maybe 20 people’s lives
This is being consumed as entertainment
And the reason that the ‘news media’ does this is because it’s what we consume
PBS/public radio are fine ways to get most important news
The issue isn’t ‘news’ or ‘media’ it’s the news - like art, education, healthcare, et al - should not be run on a predatory, for profit model

Ok, I watched that video and have just one question...What the heck kind of satelite is that shown just before the #1 storm? I'm sure it's CGI (I hope), just wondering why put it there?! And if it's real?! WTH!!
Edit: it's at the 14:00 mark.

Didn't make it that far. I didn't classify the first as extreme. Therefore, the rest was ignored.

Evidence gathered in a criminal investigation is typically not released to the public except those materials that are public or government-owned (sometimes you'll see autopsy reports, death certificates, 911 calls, body worn cam footage made public). Are you saying they have to produce the bodies to the public so the official government documents like the autopsies or death certificates can be believed? I have no knowledge of that ever happening at least not in the modern era. Had there been a trial, that would provide an opportunity for the public to view evidence but when there's no trial they don't usually just put on a show of their evidence to the public (for a number of good reasons).

Materials in a criminal investigation file can be requested through the state FOIA process, but when it relates to private material seized in the investigation (as opposed to materials created by the investigation) there are often criteria that keep them withheld, for example if the owner objects on privacy grounds. As intriguing as this case is, it's a single murder between two private citizens. The true "public interest" in access to the private material is very low.

I'm gonna need legal counsel to continue this conversation. lol
