2007 Salary Cap Space (1 Viewer)

Here's what I am MOST interested in seeing from that chart:

1. We are in the top 8 for cap space in the entire leage
2. We are fourth in the NFC
3. We have more space than anyone else in the NFC South...VERY IMPORTANT!!!!
a. 6 Million more than the Bucs
b. 19 million more than the Falcons
c. 29.5 Million more than the Panthers

Those numbers....SHOULD....allow us to gain a competitive edge over our NFC counter parts and provide us a leg up to win the NFC South next year. I realize we still need to lock up Colston and Smith, although I have a feeling Smith won't be signed until the middle of next season after this year's performance. With the guys we let walk, we have no reason NOT to land a top notch CB, MLB and DT in FA.

That's 2007 cap room. I believe that chart is incorrect for 2008. Peter King from cnnsi posted an up to date chart recently. Saints are actually sitting at 4th over all or so with 30+ million available.
