When asked about Lee Corso saying USC is the best team,"he's an old big 10 coach, he should go coach them up to be faster then he can run his mouth"

"Theres one requirement to win the NC, beat Stanford"

Funny stuff. With that said, all 3 guys on first and 10 say USC is the better team 2 minutes later.

And yet the AP didn't even consider USC for #2....

Like I said on another thread, if the PAC 10 continues to refuse to even consider a playoff system, then the USC lovers like Corso and company need to publicly call out the conference for being satisfied with a broken system, and stop crying over poor USC not making it to the NC game. If USC was so worthy, then a playoff system would have proved it.

In all seriousness, Jimmy Carville may be one of the ugliest people on the planet.

The PAC 10 and Big 10 Conference commissioners are the only thing saving those conferences and the Rose Bowl from becoming a bygone era, a footnote in college football history if you will. 90% of America wants some kind of playoff in college football. I guess the 10% must be Pac 10 and Big 10 fans. If the best way to prove it is on the field and your conference is against proving it on the field, what exactly is your conference and its teams afraid of?

And honestly, if your own conference is against a playoff system that would have benefitted your own team, then gripe at the conference heads instead of griping about the current system...put the griping energy where it might be useful.

How can they say USG was the better team? When they play the same caliber of teams we had to play and come away with an equal or better record, then I'll entertain it. Until, they will play these cupcake teams and continue to play the Rose Bowl against completely inferior teams.

The one thing I'll give USG is that they were dialed in at the end of the year. Same with Georgia, but since the PAC 10 is scared senseless of a playoff, they'll be void of a chance to prove their superiority.

Overall, the SEC doesn't get the respect it deserves, yet inferior conferences are hailed constantly. I just don't get it.

Now that's good stuff. Gotta give it up for Carville on his take on USC. Geaux Tigers!

Its because the SEC teams beat each other up during the season so their records aren't as good as the cupcake conferences. USC wouldn't crack the top 5 of the SEC. Plus the media has it out for the SEC, there just aren't any big markets really for the media guys to hit on. To them we're just a bunch of dumb inbred hicks.

I enjoyed the interview thoroughly....If USC wants to argue about it, tell them to beat stanford at home. If GA wants to argue, tell them to win their division and conference.:D

There's a difference in being the best team and the national champions.

Anyone arguing USC is the best team right now (or Georgia) has a very, very legit argument.

Anyone arguing USC (or Georgia) should be national champs has a very, very poor argument.

Good post. Those who are upset because the current "two best teams" were left out need to remember that the current system rewards the entire body of work over the course of the whole season, not who is "hot" at the end. Teams need to perform week in, week out, against tough competition -- teams that do not do this are left out in the cold. Teams that do a better job of it get invited to the big game. If the general population, ESPN, the schools, etc., want to see the best teams "right now" in the NC game, then support a playoff system. Otherwise, embrace the system as it stands now and recognize LSU as the best team over the course of the entire season, and as the National Champion.

I am so tired of the USC crying. Its as if they are playing in a peewee league where everyone has to be a winner to make the kids feel good about themselves.

The Pac 10 and the Big 10 will always back each other as long as they can keep their alliance with the rose bowl. They want to be a part of the BCS but when it favors them but when it does not favor them they want to designate themselves as their own champions ... and people buy that dog excrement.

I wish all the other conferences would grab some ... and demand a playoff or that all BCS teams must honor and support the system as designed. Just like in pro sports, if you degrade the product with your actions and comments you will be disciplined.

If USC don't like the BCS then they should forfiet the money they get from their BCS bowl games or better yet, boycott the bowl game. Same for Georgia!!
