yeah I know the ravens have a good run defense but when deuce gets 5 carries we are bound to lose. seriously payton, how do you expect to win against a defense like baltimore when you make your playcalling so one sided and predictable? what we had like 2 runs in the first 15-20 plays? that is just unacceptable

Peyton needs to stop with the gimmick plays and just play football.Stop trying to prove that your more clever than everyone else.

Yeah, I saw that too Diat.

It seemed like they assumed they wouldn't be able to run on 'em, so why try.

Deuce did have 1 good one up the middle for about 7 ot 8 and Reggie had one too for 5. I think we were just out of that plan too early being down by so many points.

I guess you could say they could have run more on the second drive down 7-0. After that when we got the ball it was:

14-0
14-0
21-0
28-7
35-7

So on........

How can you fault them for throwing the ball?

the reason the ravens were able to put this one away was because we abandoned the run completely and then they unleashed the pass rush and forced some turnovers. we made it look a little better at the end but this thing was never even close. time of possession 37 min to 23...

Because Drew Brees is (normally) so good with the ball Payton seems to have no problem pushing the panic button. If it's within a score and we're moving the ball ok on the ground, he sticks with it. But if our offense stalls for a drive or more or we get behind he seems to have no trouble putting it in Brees' hands.

Philosophically speaking, I dislike this. But so far it's been very succesful. For example against Philly, that 8:30 drive? 8 pass plays, and all 8 completions. Brees is, in some respects, as safe and as consistent as a run game.

So I don't know. I guess we'll see how it plays out over the whole season.

If you want to know why the Ravens had 37 minutes in TOP, you might want to take a look at the defense.....not the offense and whether or not we were running the ball. They were 8-14 on third down, that's not going to get it done.

The holes were just not there, honestly I think we ran too much in the 2nd half; running did nothing for us today.

Our OL is not adequate as run-blockers, Bush has helped the OL by moving the LBs but don't kid yourself the OL is not good at run-blocking, furthermore if they really are good run blockers it would appear that Reggie is a bust. (which I don't believe)

and we also ran the ball 30 times against the eagles and won the time of possession. throwing the ball 46 times like we did today and you are almost certain to make some mistakes... like we did. I just dont like the fact that payton seems to abandon the run so quickly.

I agree I would like to see the saints run the ball more so that we can be more balance, and believe me i like Sean Payton and I do believe he knows what he is doing at least I hope so. The saints will be alright, but we can't give a team 5 turn overs and expect to win a game. They had to pass being down 28-7 at the half. They will bounce back.

Take away all the Offensive turnovers coupled with a little better redzone play and it would have "gotten it done".

We lost because of turnovers. The Baltimore defense had something to do with the turnovers. Reggie's fumble and interception in the endzone set the tone.

Yeah, take away my bills and I might have some money. Doesn't work like that. Besides this isn't the argument. The turnovers directly led to 28 if not all 35 points for the Ravens and put us in a huge hole, you can't ignore that. It's the reason we had to go to the air.
