This may be a little sensitive but I am really getting tired of people wearing their sensitivity on their sleeves. The comment she made was not racists unless you are black and view it as racist. Lynching have been caried out on classes of people from all countries and all walks of life.

*edit add: If she made the comment about Phil Mickelson would people have caused a stir? If the comment was racially insensitive, has it occurred to anyone that maybe she is so non racist that she only sees Tiger as a person and not a black person? Isn't that what the black population wants?

Maybe the african community should write a dictionary of racially sensitive words and phrases they do not like so the rest of the world will know what can and cannot be said. Many adults today were not born when these "racially sensitve" words were associated to the racial dictionary.

One day I would like to see someone accused of one of these "infractions" file a libel and defamation suit against the people who in return call someone racist.

Starting today, as a white man I am going to start a crusade to have the word "racist" removed from the diction of african americans. It is an offensive word and obviously only be used to denigrate white skinned people. It is ok if used by other white skinned people to referr to other white skinned people but by no means should it be used by black skinned.

Now for a more light story regarding Kelly. I was working out one day and this new girl was also working out at the same time. Guys were constantly clamoring around her as she was working out and I thought it was the typical dogs in heat over new flesh. My routine was to always shoot some hoops for about 30 minutes after weights and cardio so I do that as usual and within about 5 minutes this girl comes in and asks if she can shoot with me. She was pretty good and kicked my butt in several games of horse. I asked her what college she played for and said she did play in college but not basketball ... golf. She then proceeded to say she was in town for the Byron Nelson and the Colonial working for the Golf Channel. I was an avid golfer but did not have the Golf Channel so I had no clue who she was but suddenly realized why all the guys were hounding her so much. I proceeded to ask her all kinds of questions about the job, different players and she said she has interviewed Tiger many times and played golf with him as well. She was very friendly and easy to talk with and I credit that to the environment and the fact that I had no clue who she was.

We scheduled to meet up again the next day but as luck(bad) would have it I was sent out of town and did not get back in time to workout. The next year at the colonial I asked some of the GC guys if she was in town and they said she wasn't and that I didn;t have a chance with her anyway because she was on the other team. I feel bad because I think standing her up at the gym the next day made her go gay. LOL

Yeah it was a pretty racist remark IMO. But man is she hot, I hope the story dosen't go away and she loses here career as a golf announcer and poses for playboy to get some dough. (Yes, I am an idiot)

Edit: and if ya don't wanna call it raciest fine (tiger does claim to be Cablasian), it was in very very very very very very very poor taste to say the least. To insinuate that he is good at golf and the younger golfers should lynch him in an alley. Pretty off color comments reguardless what color Tiger woods.

Punishment was well deserved in my opionion. Bet she want say any more stupid remarks like that.

i think it is the most ridiculous thing i have heard. white people can no longer talk without offending someone. someone needs to write a dicionary that i can see what offends all other races and nationalities and sex's. people are too sensitive now a days. people have not been slaves for over a hundred years, it's time to give it up already.

Lynching of black people is a very real and horrible event that occurred in this country. Joking or not saying what she said was wrong. People maybe too sensitive these days but in this instance she was flat out wrong. Ask her and I bet she agrees it was a stupid and uncalled for remark receiving just punishment.

There are "2805 [documented] victims of lynch mobs killed between 1882 and 1930 in ten southern states. Although mobs murdered almost 300 white men and women, the vast majorityóalmost 2,500óof lynch victims were African-American. Of these black victims, 94 percent died in the hands of white lynch mobs. The scale of this carnage means that, on the average, a black man, woman, or child was murdered nearly once a week, every week, between 1882 and 1930 by a hate-driven white mob" (ix).

Can't you see how someone who does not have a racist bone in their body can make a comment like that without even thinking it is racial? Do you beleive it is right for people like Al Sharpton to use this event to pander themselves in the media?

I certainly don't need some book of offensive references to know that a white person is going to face an understandable backlash for saying a black person should be lynched. The comment was, at best, completely out of line.

i wish this would all go away. i think people have way too much time on their hands. i dont see people get angry over black comedians talk about white people. its has been going on since red foxx and richard pryor. oh its comedy? so this ladies comment want comedic? if you think she said it in a racist manner you need your head examined.

I didn't say she was racist. Doubtful that she is. Doubtful that images of the past crimes were even in her mind when she made the comment. She said something stupid. If she would have said the way to stop Tiger was lock his clubs in the trunk of his car and throw away the keys it would be just a funny remark. Saying they need to lynch him in a back alley brings up horrible, very horrible images of past crimes in this country and people get offended by it and rightfully so. I stand by my opinion that punishment was just.

Not sure what Al Sharpton has to do with the punishment. He has his own set of problems and agenda that any other opportunist has.

what happened in this country along time ago was horrible. slavery was horrible. but for the woman to get suspended from work for 2 weeks for a comment that means nothing. tiger said he didn't take it as racist then why should the rest of the country. it is also terrible that rev. al wanted this woman fired. why cant we all just be people, that live in america. there should be no white americans, african americans, mexican americans or any other you can think of. if you were born on us soil then you are just an american

The person at the network who made the decision to suspend her made it based on one of his employees which represents his company putting the company in a bad situation. Tiger forgiving her had no bearing on his decision nor should it have. Sharptons reaction is to be expected. That is who he is and what he does but he represents himself so he can get away with it.

Ok. So if you don't think she is a racist and you doubt the images of a racist past were in her mind WHY DO YOU THINK SHE SHOULD BE SUSPENDED? You and others are punishing her for what you percieve not what she meant.

And yes this does make a difference for her because it is now in her "file". If she uses her diction and accidentally makes another remark years down the road that blacks regard as offensive, they will crucify her as having a history of racial insensitivity.

Read my last post. She got suspended for putting her company in a bad situation. I see it as simple as that. She got suspended for doing something stupid. She will learn a good lesson from it and be that much better. I don't see this as much of black issue as you might thing although that is part of it.

I promise I am not picking on you but my head is spinning on my kneck.

How can you put your company in jeopardy if what she said was not meant to be offensive? If it is not a black issue then why is what she said offensive and why would her company be placed in jeopardy?

You can take these as rhetorical questions.

No problem. I never thought you were.

If you go back and look at the very first sentence you posted in the OP your own words indicate this to be a sensitive issue. Why? Because it is. She goofed up. Simple as that. She will take her medicine and it will be behind her.
