Mix of maternal breastfeeding, wet nurses when mom couldn’t feed or died and lots and lots of fetal deathsHow did we survive as a species before baby formula?
Maybe in the 19th century (we had baby formula then by the way), but even in the early 20th century baby formula wasn't "universally" used. And I realize that medical/scientific advances make our lives better and we have a better life expectancy because of it. I just wonder what we are going to do going forward if we can't solve this. Just die out? Or will we survive as we did before it was used more.Mix of maternal breastfeeding, wet nurses when mom couldn’t feed or died and lots and lots of fetal deaths
The point?
Survival of the fittest starts to kick in. It sounds harsh, but that is what happens when there are not means of helping sustain infants that cannot subsist on breast milk alone.Maybe in the 19th century (we had baby formula then by the way), but even in the early 20th century baby formula wasn't "universally" used. I don't think I would have a problem subsisting on fresh breast milk alone...Survival of the fittest starts to kick in. It sounds harsh, but that is what happens when there are not means of helping sustain infants that cannot subsist on breast milk alone.
I'm just going by what Biden has even said.
Is Biden slinging bull and crying wolf?
I’m assuming you’re being hyperbolic, but just in caseSurvival of the fittest starts to kick in. It sounds harsh, but that is what happens when there are not means of helping sustain infants that cannot subsist on breast milk alone.
Sometimes it's survival of the richest. Not always, but yeah.I’m assuming you’re being hyperbolic, but just in case
‘Survival of the fittest’ - in Darwin’s theory - means elements of a species survived bc it had genetic material that allowed it to adapt to a changing environment over 100s/1000s of generations
It certainly does not mean that the most privileged win. Of course we all know that the privileged do win most of the time, but it’s certainly not because they’re ‘fittest’
