Like ya’ll have said, there’s plenty of language in that press release that indicates this is probably real.

Even IF this is a work…wouldn’t it be a really bad one? Like, who would come out looking good?

I know Banks had a small role on Mandalorian season 2. Does she have any other TV or movie projects coming up? Not that every wrestling company in the world wouldn’t throw $ at her if WWE ever did cut her loose (or her contract ran out), and she still wanted to wrestle.

Naomi is probably expendable from a performer perspective, but then again, she is married into “the bloodline”.

I wonder how WWE plays this and what Sasha & Naomi’s side of the story is.

Take it for what it's worth, but this is apparently a friend of Naomi's who made a thread detailing the Naomi/Sasha POV of the whole thing:

Man, if that is true, that's truly forked up.

The Sasha/Naomi story has been picked up by the New York Post, TMZ, and other outlets. It has definetly escaped the wrestling bubble.

Yeah, the NYP had something up not too long after it happened. That should've made it clear to the doubters that it wasn't a work.

I'm sure Vince is enjoying this.

There are still a few on Squared Circle insisting in must be a work despite it making no sense. These are the same people the insist the Montreal Scrwwjob was a work and that Kevin Sullivan is the one that really killed Benoit and his family.

From Ric Flair, “Most assuredly, and a lot of conversation. That talk hasn’t happened, but could I do it? Absolutely. I’m in better shape now than I was when Sting and I wrestled the last match on Nitro,” Flair said on the November 2021 podcast. He added, “WWE won’t let me do anything, even though I’m released. I understand, they have so much liability and I told them I would sign anything, but nobody wants me to die on their watch. I’d rather die in the ring. If I have to go. I’d rather not jump off the 19th floor or spend another 31 days in the ICU.”

What seems so strange about this is there were rumors of Naomi joining the Bloodline soon
I was reading a headline on Facebook and of course when I clicked it my page reloaded, but they said that rumor was Naomi was supposed to win the match last night and face Blanca.

That could have caused friction (storyline) and her way to the bloodline with the title if she beats Bianca. (Real life) If that rumor is true, that doesn't paint Sasha in a positive light. It makes her look like she is being selfish and left and Naomi just backed her friend.

Who knows.

Yeah that’s what I’m referring too, maybe she was just backing a friend but if that’s true talk about loyalty

Yeah. I was coming to post the same thing. I don't know what's those fools are smoking to continue to believe that.

The rumor was that Naomi was supposed to pin Sasha last night to win and go up against Bianca, only to lose. At the same time, they were going to have Sasha put over Ronda on SmackDown.

I don't blame either one for walking out. Naomi is probably the most underrated, underutilized woman on the roster despite having superb skills. She has the same personality they just invested in putting over Bianca. They either didn't realize it or didn't care that they already had it in Naomi. And Sasha is a bonafide star. No way should she be used to put over some unskilled wannabe wrestler.

Scott Hall (RIP) repeatedly insisted Montreal was a work. His logic was that there's no way then-WWF would have kept the cameras on Bret while he was spelling out "W C W" in the air with his index finger. It's not so much his reasoning that baffled me, it's the fact that someone who was so close with HBK and HHH.....both of whom were in the thick of everything that happened that night.....would maintain that belief. Unless he felt his buddies were "working" him.

In regards to Sasha/Naomi.......I'm having flashbacks to Matt Hardy in Summer 2005, where WWE will take an actual incident and somehow get both women back into the fold and make a storyline out of it.
