NHL 2021-2022. Hockey is back! (2 Viewers)

Ooof. Think I'll just go hang out in the cute puppy thread.

I'm taking the Av's in game 4. I thought they outplayed the Bolts by a good margin. TB got the goaltending and the Av's did not.

Hockey is like watching two football teams go up and down the field with both getting to the other's one yard line without ever crossing it.

Horrendous line change by Tampa on that OT goal for the Avs

But I’m fairly certain that Colorado should have been whistled for “too many man on the ice” just prior to the OT goal. MacKinnon was nowhere near the bench when Kadri took to the ice.

Watching the Avs this season and post-season it's apparent the Lightning are doing something to really slow them down/take them off their game. The past 2 games they haven't looked like themselves and were just getting outworked, outplayed amd outhustled. I've not seen that happen 2 games in a row - they usually are so fast, so sharp with their passing, play great defense, and keep tremendous offensive pressure on throughout the entire game. I never thought I'd see them get out shot 17-4 in a period. The Lightning have made some great adjustments.

Or it's just the ice is garbage.😄

As you probably saw, the officials swallowed their whistles in the 3rd and OT. Trips not called, boarding not called, too many men not called. It's just the way I like playoff hockey. The NHL officials are polar opposites of the NFL officials.

I get what you’re saying. I know several AHL officials and 1 NHL official (not working the finals) and I get they try to let the players decide the outcome, especially late in games, but that was WAY beyond the limits of a line change. The NHL’s response to the situation was less than satisfactory.

I guess it just equals a “bang bang” play against the Saints that, we won’t revisit.

Tampa’s shoddy line change probably played more of a role in the outcome, but that non-call was bad and the NHL’s response was even worse.
