Haven't seen much about him on the board so I'm curious to know what some of us think about this kid. I watched a couple USC games and this kid plays with a high motor all the time at MLB. He's big, atheletic, always be in good position, and plays sideline to sideline.

Is he in the '08 draft? If so, he would be sweet at #10 IMO. I believe the FO feels Shanle has a hold on the WLB position thus signing him to that extension last offseason so I don't think they'll spend big on that spot. I would rather have a guy at that WLB spot who can get to the QB in passing situations honestly, and Shanle is not that. but this kid outta USC shows to be a real MLB.

Anybody have any insight on Maualuga?

He has stated several times that he will go back to USC for his senior season.

yeah, no one is talking about him because he is most likely going to stay as SC...but if he declares, he is a top 5 pick in my opinion...just an absolute beast!!

He's not declaring. There was already an official statement from him last week saying he was returning to USC. Therefore, there's no reason to talk about him.

Yeah, and we won't be in position to draft him next year either. He is pretty much a non issue.

I hope we aren't... but if we have another offseason like the one we had in 2007... it won't be that far-fetched... what a waste of 7 months (Feb-Aug)...

Yes, I was very impressed with what I saw of him. ONe thing the Saints should do concerning the draft; take notes on everything they did in 07' and do the reverse.
