I've never been there and was wondering how the seating goes. It says standing room only, so I assume there are no seats. How early should one go to get a decent place to see the concert, and if we were in the back, is it still worth it? Thanks

Depends on who you're seeing, but it's close to a sellout and you want to be close, you probably should get there a little early. Soundwise, the place isn't huge and you get good sound everywhere. Most of the time I've had no problems, but I did see Heart there about five years ago and it was hard to move through the crowd, say to go to the bar or bathroom. And while I haven't been there since Jazz Fest of 2005, up unitl that point there are a FEW benches along the back wall of the floor, but you know you'd have to get there early for those.

If you eat in the restaurant before hand, which isn't a bad meal, you can get in 15 minutes of so before the main crowd. That will help with getting a good spot.

Yep, also, the upstairs area has bar stools along the railing. If you dont need to be on the floor up close, and would rather sit (like my wife who has a knee problem), then get there early and grab some bar stools upstairs.

Thanks guys. I would like to see Jonny Lang, but my wife's pretty short, so I don't know how much she would like it.

get a spot close to the two staircases that go from the floor level to the bar level. they are small, only 4 steps or so, but she can stand on them while you stand on the floor level.

I took my wife to see Keb Mo a few years ago, we ate there before the show. My wife wanted to sit, so we went upstairs. There were no seats available except for at the bar, which had poor sightlines for the show.

We were resigned to standing at one of the tables for the rest of the night, but when the bartender learned we had come from Montana, and were hoping to sit to see the show, she talked to a manager and he let us sit in the balcony style seating which sits directly above the floor. They are usually reserved for private (foundation club? or something like that.) members.

Great show, great service, great job HOB!!! :)

Just went last week for Big Head Todd and the Monsters. We ate and got in early for the show and had our pick of the seats. If you go upstairs there are bar chairs around the back railing. The seats along the front railing were reserved, but not any better that the back rail seats.

We sat pretty much dead center stage and it was only 10 feet to the bar. You'll be making trips there yourself as the 1 waitress is woefully inadequate to cover all the seats up there. My biggest suggestion is to get there early and eat or buy something in the gift shop.

:plus-un2: to this and Brennan's post.

The food I haven't been impressed with, but if you tell them you're going in there to eat you can skip the whole line and then hang out a bit and head in.

i love HOB....been to many shows there.....just bring a pocket full of cash if you want to drink.....the prices are ridiculous.....most strip clubs don't charge what HOB does for drinks

Went there for the Lisa Lampinelli show, in December, and it cost me $25 for 2 mixed drinks. Good thing I was pretty buzzed prior to the show or else I'd still be paying off the tab.
