Best hole in the wall restaurants in N.O? (1 Viewer)

What is the criteria for "hole in the wall"?

Some would consider port-o-call a hole in the wall, not me, but some.

i was going to ask the same thing -- I mean -- is Dantes kitchen a hole in the wall --

I love Dante's Kitchen... Yo Mama's in the Quarter makes a mean burger, and that has to be a hole in the wall...

Always liked Coop's but last time I was there it was absolutely terrible. Must have had some staff turnover or something.

I'm a big fan of Adolpho's on Frenchman. I really like their red sauce. Has a lot of kick but doesn't weigh you downlike most marinara's do.

fiorella's, adolfo's, johnny's poboys

(don't know if any of these would qualify as hole-in-the-wall)

I'd say Johnny's steak house offf of Napolean, Frankie and Johnny's or Rocky and Carlo's.

Oh, and I have a friend that loves Restaurant Mandich on St. Claude. But, I've never been in it so I don't know if it's a hole and I don't know if it survived Katrina (I'm sure it was under water). I also always kind of like College Inn, but it's on the border line of being a hole.

That'd be Charlie's--which is actually supposed to reopen.
