Scary scenes from the Dolphins game tonight. There were already questions about the Dolphins’ handling of what looked like a Tua concussion on Sunday.

Hopefully Tua is okay - he was taken to the hospital for further evaluation, but released tonight. Those questions are now hugely important after tonight’s injury (update: Coach McDaniels confirmed tonight it was indeed a concussion).

This article on NFL.con yesterday (Wednesday):

This tweet was from 4:08PM today, hours before the game:

Yes Dr. Nowinski is a strong advocate for far
more robust protocols but that doesn’t mean he isn’t right.

Did the independent neurologist clear him last week? I thought that was the safety mechanism to prevent team bias.

I believe he was cleared. That appears to warrant review under the circumstances.

Was is the same doc that cleared him to re-enter the game last week? Damn that clip is hard to watch (last week’s) - this week is worse.

Thanks for starting new thread as we were jacking up the game thread.

This MUST get national attention. There is simply no way after last Sunday, anyone can explain that what Tua experienced was due to back injury. He shook the cobwebs and took several steps and lost balance. Could barely stand. And returned.
Now, on 3 days rest (which is an injury issue in and of itself) here he is playing again.

Luke Keuchly retired because of concussions.

Chris Borland retired because of the permanent brain damage suffered from any concussion was not worth any amount of money the NFL could offer him.

The Saints were crucified in a fake witch hunt over claims of "protecting the players"... when there was a billion dollar concussion lawsuit against the NFL.

The NFL doesn't care about player safety. They never have.

Will this affect the coaches decision regarding Winston back injury? This is not a strain back but a fracture. You know you never want to risk anything that protect the spinal cord.

They never will, just look at the WWE and former wrestlers.
