Because the refs will give them a PI or holding call every time. That call on Lattimore against Thielen was utterly ridiculous. They were both fighting for position. Should have been a no call at best.

Don’t forget the illegal hands to the shoulder pads that kept the drive alive in the first place.

When that drive started I told my wife that if the Vikings didn’t convert on third down there would be some questionable flags. Low and behold it happened. The hands to the face was the worst one. Waaayy away from the play. The interface on Latt should have been offsetting PI on both.

That was actually the strategy of teams in the 07-08’ season when Kevin Kaesviharn and Josh Bullocks were our safeties.

It was either going to be completed or a PI, so most teams would chuck a few bombs up every game to take advantage.

That’s the current meta.

And when we had Browner.

Honestly, every team should throw bombs every play against anyone. The odds of something bad happening are much worse than a neutral play and the rewards of a positive play are immense.

Football is the only sport where a penalty can give you the exact result as an intended outcome.

Speaking of bombs, on that one that Dalton did not hit with Olave due to the defender holding his arm. It was slightly under thrown. Just bomb it downfield and Olave has that extra gear to go get it like DeSean Jackson in his prime.

The games are so predictable now. Team throws bomb, ref throws flag, rinse and repeat. Makes the sport much harder to watch and I confess it's been much harder for me to watch lately
