Who can forget that great pick he had!

I reported this about three weeks ago. I expext to see him cut. I doubt a team will surrender a first-day pick. While Rogers is definitely talented, you cannot put out that he's lazy and expect teams to just start sending draft choices. Because this has been speculated since the start of last season, I think cutting him might be the final resolution. That said, if he's cut, I would not mind taking a look at him as he can be a force inside. Even lazy, the guy makes a difference most of the time.

A healthy, in shape, motivated, and consistent Shaun Rodgers is exactly what this team needs up front... the problem is... from week to week... you never know if that Shaun Rodgers will show up.

I had always assumed that Rodgers was one of the top young DT's in the league. Does anyone know if this was the first season that lazy & weight problems had been reported concerning Rodgers?

Haha, that music / slow mo is great.

Well, mvtrucking, the label of being lazy has pretty much been around his entire career. In fact, early on, many observers around the league considered Rogers to be a bust. The Lions tried to move him several times in a trade and it did not work out. Then all of a sudden, he just blew up and became one of the most dominant forces in the league at DT. The "lazy" label never quite left him despite his play. Some of his critics believe that he can be an even greater force than he is if he was more dedicated. I happen to believe that he would play better for the right coach. A coach like Payton would push him to be successful. Of course, some mgiht say the same about the Lions coach, however, I believe that he does not know when to let up and tends to alienate his players. I guarantee you this--if Rogers is cut, he will be a load next year as he will be motivated to prove the Lions were wrong about him.

Rogers had been fined for weight issues, and his knees are taking a beating. I've read that everytime he loses some blubber and regains his focus, he reverts back to his old ways.

He'll still only be 29 years old when the season starts...

Shaun Rogers is incredibly lazy and incredibly talented.

The Saints can not afford to give up a real draft pick for him, it is simply to much of a risk.

The Saints cannot afford to sign him to a big dollar deal, that he may command if cut, because you just never know about him.

If we could get him on a moderate deal it would be well worth it he is a much better NT then Thomas when he tries to be.

Then he'll be a younger Grady...

Not Grady...

Give Shaun time. He has potential. Actually, I'd like to see his offseason pic. One before his preseason "conditioning" after getting fined ritual.

He would work out as well as Grady Jackson did down here. He would open up a wing shack on Williams so he could eat for free every day after practice.
