Could someone help me understand what percentage of "say-so" each of the following people has in regards to free agency and drafting? I guess in the end it's a collective effort, but assign some percentage to all.

a. Mickey Loomis

b. Rick Mueller

c. Sean Payton

d. O / D Coordinators

e. Position coaches

f. Tom Benson

Yea, I'm just curious at who is resposible for what. Does Loomis approve every pick before they go with it?

if you go to the website and click on their bios it shows you their responsibilities... im not quite sure of the chain of command tho.

if i were to guess i would say it has to be a unanimous call ... like a jury kinda thing.. probably why the vikings aren't very good at getting the pick in on time. they never agree

Been there, I just read alot of the failures of some drafts and free agent moves, and wonder who really deserves the brunt of the blame.

This should have been a poll; But I will have to say it all starts at the top so I'll go Benson first because he has to hire the GM then I'll go Loomis 2nd then Mueller slightly above Payton.

bigno, thanks for the input. I think I meant like evaluation and the final say on draft day, etc. I know in the big picture of things it's like you said.

Then we would have to go Loomis/ Mueller in that order. Loomis has the final say regardless of what Mueller thinks about a player.

I would say that the order you have it is pretty accurate, but I would be the top 3 discuss and come to some form of consensus on each pick.
