For example, if the Saints can somehow get to 7 wins, does DA return next year?

Considering DA’s past, he should not be retained if he just gets 5.I'm thinking five wins. Sound horrible but Loomis is a smart guy. He realizes the injuries, that this is not a Sean Payton led club and that it takes some time to start over with a new guy. Granted, he is from the Payton "culture" but he is still new. Now, if DA has lost the locker room i.e. does Honey Badger, Marcus Maye, Olave, the new guys who didn't play under Payton don't buy into DA, that could pose a problem.
Flip side to that is one game. I think four wins, he's gone. Five, he stays.
I am totally in this camp. Trust me. I don't think DA is qualified in the least to be a head coach. The Saints just don't have a history of one and done coaches. Now, the Pelicans did the one and done with Van Gundy and they are under Loomis and Mrs. Benson's leadership. I just see them giving DA another shot out of loyalty.Considering DA’s past, he should not be retained if he just gets 5.
There is no shame in the Saints going one and done with DA. This isn’t a Browns or Lions situation. The team is coming off a fifteen year run that yielded a championship.I am totally in this camp. They just have to realize that the fan base will, um, not be pleased if he returns......
You've just described the nightmare scenario. I want the Saints to win every game no matter who is on the team or in the organization, but I'm afraid a few more wins this year, resulting in retaining DA, will only perpetuate the team's decline. I was thrilled when we beat the Rams, and I want us to win again, don't get me wrong. I just don't blieve DA can ever return us to greatness, which needs to be the goal.I'm thinking five wins. DA has to win it all to stay in my eyes 1 win im not convinced, the Team needs to rattle off a few moreFor example, if the Saints can somehow get to 7 wins, does DA return next year?
I tend to agree with this, as well as what I believe to be the biggest factor into why DA stays next season… The Saints are NOT an attractive job for a new HC next season… No QB, no 1st rounder, and negative cap space to go along with an aging and injury plagued vet core.I'm not defending him but I don't think Allen's job is in as much jeopardy as others do. I think he's more likely to be back next season than not. He's well known to Loomis and Benson, I believe the relationship is probably a friendly one, and they will give him more than a season at the job. I think the only thing that would change that is if there were internal cultural problems that they held him responsible for.
Looking at the schedule, I can only see three games where the Saints have a shot. Cleveland, Atlanta, and Carolina.Unfortunately DA would have to lead us to another 6 wins (basically win out) to be 100% safe. 9 win total will be about 85%. 8 wins about 70%. 7 wins 40%. 6 wins 25%. 5 wins 10%. Remain at 4 wins then 0%
