Did anyone else hear this on WWL at halftime? Bobby Hebert actually claimed that Payton Turner was "trying to get up too quickly to celebrate" and that's why his ankle got rolled up on. He actually used the phrase "he got himself injured."

I would say I'm shocked, but this isn't the dumbest thing to come out of Bobby's mouth. But it's close.

Hey Bobby, I have a challenge for you: Why don't you stand face-to-face with Payton and tell him it's HIS fault that a 300-lb lineman fell on his ankle? Please, and make sure the cameras are rolling so we can all watch. Thanks.

But what tone did Cannon say it in?

True story. Me and a friend were in NOLA for a Saints game, and we went eat at Deanie's. In walks Bobby to do his radio show. My friend gets up some nerve to go ask Bobby to take a picture with him. Bobby is polite and agrees. I use my friend's phone to take their picture. After, Bobby stays standing there, I give my friend his phone and his says, "ok, you're turn". I said, no I'm good. He said, "you don't want a picture with Bobby?" I said, "no, that guy played for the falcons." Bobby said, "c'mon that was a long time ago." I said, "but you still played for the falcons, and spread your arms out like a falcon as you ran across the field from throwing a TD pass. No thanks, I'm good." Bobby said, "eff you". I laughed and we walked away.

Edit: I did take a pic with Kermit Ruffins at the Little Gem Saloon that same night though. AFAIK, Kermit never played for the falcons.

I don't know what you all are so upset about, he keeps the dumb cajun Bobby Boucher stereotype going. I know everyone here loves that!
When I moved to swanky Napa Valley Ca from Louisiana (I was 21 years old). Almost everyone asked me if Louisiana was like it was portrayed in the Waterboy😤. Made me hate Adam Sadler for a good while

I once watched Bobby get absolutely smashed while doing a live remote broadcast. He literally had a handler whose job it was to keep the drinks coming any time they went to an ad. His brain is basically just CTE and liquor at this point.

Someone posted the same on the Gameday Board yesterday and I was thinking how nuts that was. For that clown to say it on a public broadcast! SMDH.

I listened to it on the drive home. Even mentioning Turner was popping up to celebrate was not necessary. Terribly worded because it did make it sound like it Turner's fault for wanting to celebrate. Then he did some back peddling. At the end he said something to the effect that "he got rolled up on from the back and it was just bad luck. It happens a lot to linemen."
