Apparently, Chris Simms hunger for pain and humiliation, goes unsated. Ranking Zach Wilson at # 27 ahead of Trevor Lawrence #28. Zach Wilson came into the draft with more boom or bust potential then any of the top 5 QBs coming out in 2020. You could say Lance, but him being from a small college was already baked in. I feel bad for Wilson, he had many head winds againest him going into the draft. Then the JETS came knocking, and sealed his fate. (BUST) Change my mind!

2020/2019 Zach Wilson played 6 ranked teams, and beat 2, his best wins were #14 Bosie St. #24 USC

2020/2019 Trevor Lawrence Beat #1 Alabama #3 Notre Dame #2 Ohio State #24 Virgina #18 Miami #4 Notre Dame (again)

Booger said the same thing. Said something to the effect that since Wilson came from money, that he never had to face adversity.

This kid had no business being the 2nd over all pick. Zach only had one good yr of production. He is out of BYU and led a very sheltered life. Look at him at the Draft, he looked like a young kid w/ the hot mom. He just didn't look like he was comfortable.

He was a 2nd overall pick in the biggest news media city (NY) in football, and your hot mom makes more headlines than you do on twitter. He never had a chance. He has talent, but will he dig deep to find it, or will he go work for his uncles airline?
His family is wealthy enough, that this kid would be a multimillionaire w/ football or not. Not to say rich kids can't ball out, and be elite. It is just more rare the case. Players that have options and soft landings don't work as hard.

That is why there is a bias against Nigerian players. Not about race or where they are from, but because they are highly educated and come from money. They didn't grow up wanting to play football, and have options, and soft landings beyond football. They don't always pan out.

It is interesting that ever since the new CBA came out, and rookie contracts have been shrunk down to a fraction of what they once were, how quickly teams are willing to move on from guys 1 or 2 years in. This started a few years back with Justin Blackmon (to my remembrance), and is just getting bigger now that we are seeing the quarterbacks get shipped off.

I’m not looking to trade for Wilson (if the Jets do decide to move on from him). He has a world of talent, but we have nobody here on this staff who has shown that they can develop talent. If Wilson were to go to a team where he could sit behind a real pro, and take it all in, then you could have a solid quarterback on your hand.

For all his comparisons coming out in the draft, him pulling a Steve Young (going from TB To SF behind Montana) would be his best option.
