The World Cup is using numerous real-time sensors embedded in each of the players' jerseys and each of the match balls. They are using AI to help determine calls such as offside penalties. If you've watched any matches, it's pretty slick, as it provides very quick and compelling visual evidence establishing whether a player was offside.

There is no legitimate reason the NFL can't use similar technology.

The NFL taking my money every year while refusing to even acknowledge that debacles like the 2018 NFCCG no-call and the numerous errant calls and no-calls that occur on a weekly basis could easily be avoided is appalling, brazen, and insulting.

See, e.g.: The World Cup's New High-Tech Ball Will Change Soccer Forever

The same reason they won't incorporate the same methods as NCAA, USFL, and XFL that have proven effective and timely. The NFL won't be able to influence games as easily if there is solid evidence.

Like some posters have mentioned, the NFL is becoming more of an entertainment spectacle like Wrestling and less of a legitimate Sport. Everyone from the owners down to the players and coaches is all about money. This is no longer the NFL of the 1900's, when the NFL was poor and players made average normal people wages and had to play to earn money. As we've seen with Watson and soon to be other mega stars, they're going to want shorter contracts with guaranteed money. Money runs the NFL not fairness.

And because it’s an entertainment industry, steering outcomes and profiting off of said outcomes is perfectly legal. Anyone who thinks that isn’t really happening is blissfully naive.

When we lost to Denver because you couldn’t tell if the guy stepped out or not on the return, that was the indicator the league needed to step things up. They didn’t.

Wholeheartedly agree, technology takes away the Shield’s ability to influence games. They’ll only do it kicking and screaming.

Wait, are you suggesting the NFL create a level playing field for all 32 teams? :ROFLMAO:

Nah man, the billion dollar corporation is just full of buffoons who are too incompetent to correct this issue!

This is not how the rich get richer! NFL WANTS fans to be outraged by miscues. It's how they get more media revenue by getting more people to talk about them.
