I don't think so. South Carolina is small potatoes in the overall picture.

But, I think it does show that the Clintons (yes, both of them) may have squandered whatever potential they once held for pulling in the black vote.

I admittedly have not looked very far ahead, but last I checked she was leading Florida and a lot of Super Tuesday polls. Is this just that big of a defeat that people will write her off? I'm no political analyst, that's why I ask.

Florida doesn't even matter, though. As of now Florida doesn't have any delegates.

Edwards at a distant third, pulling in only 19% on what should be nearly home turf for him is the handwriting on the wall. He needs to cut his losses and get out. Now.

I hope it stalls Hillary completely. But it probably won't. Not that I dislike her or, to be honest, even care all that much about her policies. She can't win in November. She's the one Democrat guaranteed to lose against almost any of the major Republicans. By herself, she'll bring out the Republican base in toto. She's just too loathed by half the population.

Which isn't to say I'm dead-set against all the Republicans. McCain is pretty competent, pandering to the fringe notwithstanding. It might be fun to see a Ron Paul Presidency, just looney-tunes time all over Capitol Hill.

Edwards will probably stay in until Super Tuesday. He has said that on a few occasions. He has the money to stay and seems to enjoy it whether he wins or not. I think he has a special deal going with Obama to not rock the boat unless it is negative towards Hillary.
