I dont understand why Dan Conner is projected so far down in the first compared to lets say aj hawk or little animal was before he decided to stay in school .Conner seems like he is the total package or am i just not seeing something?

I think because the draft is deep at LB, and because of the needs of the teams that pick early. Also his play at the Senior bowl was good not great.

Matt Forte trucked him during the Senior Bowl and he also ran over other 1st round projections... We should consider him filling Deuce roll if Deuce can't rebound off of his injury.

Dan Connor is nothing like AJ Hawk or "Little Animal" besides the fact they are all white. AJ Hawk and Laurinaitis are much better athletes and a lot faster. I don't know why people are high on Dan Connor. He doesn't look much better than Simoneau or Shanle, so why draft him?

From what I have heard and read, Conner's stock rose this week in Mobile. The NFL coaches and scouts put much more emphasis on the week of practice leading up to the game than the game itself. Conner had a solid week of practice.

That is exactly what Pat Kirwan said on Sirius......he said that 4 LBs hit the 1st rd grade, and out of those 4 Dan Connor did the best. Now I admit, that statement was made before the game, and after the game some pointed out some problems......but coaches are looking what a player does in practice before they giving him a starting job.....and in practice Connor was great! He did excellent against the run, and pass, the guy can really be an impact player.......

Its still early, and the Combines are next, when we see the measurables.....but experts point to Dan Connor as a player on the rise....

I don't want a MLB that gets run over... he sounds too soft, in addition there have been questions in regard to his speed and lower body strength.

I didn't see the game......but the way I heard, both of them stunk up the place, and Ali Highsmith outplayed both of them....

From what I've read, neither of them stunk it up. Conner was said to of been run over a few times but he still had a good game. There are a ton of LSU fans on this board. Its no surprise they all think Highsmith outplayed them. I haven't read any offical reportings that state such.

From what I read Connor plays faster than his 4.6. It appears that he might be more of a field general too.

Rivers is probably faster and his fluid hips might allow him to be better in coverage. Plus his long arms help him to shed blockers.

No way to go wrong with either but the player that reads and diagnoses plays the best of the two could be the trump card.

Not that the wonderlick should be a deciding factor, but whoever of the two that seems to be the smartest football player is who I'd like.
