Adam Jones is flying to Baltimore for a physical on Monday, suggesting the Orioles and Mariners have agreed to an Erik Bedard trade.
Jones said he's been told the deal is done, though he doesn't know who is going with him to Baltimore. Asked by the Seattle Times tonight, George Sherrill said he had heard nothing to suggest he's being included. Top prospects Chris Tillman, Jeff Clement, Carlos Triunfel and Wladimir Balentien are among the players whose names have come up in rumors.
Seattle's 1-2 is now up there with the best in the game.

Great, even less of a reason for me to watch the Orioles games this year.
Peter Angelos is the largest moran and will kill this franchise.

Hahaha... The O's will win 55 games this year... Maybe...

The Rays 1-2 is better... Because I said so...

I still think Seattle needs one more power bat to be a contender for the AL West, let alone the AL pennant.

Griffey, Jr. for DH!!!

Yep. I love the O's but this guy is nothing but a royal pain in the.....well you get it. I'm so sick and tired of him. He's making this team the joke of MLB, and it really sucks.

Lets Go O's!

Nice to get Bedard out of the division, but I can't say I'm looking forward to Jones in the AL East. I think this trade might force Minaya's hand a little more in the Johan situation since Bedard was his backup plan.

Yea I agree about Minaya. I don't think hes a good gm.

No. Kazmir = Felix. Sheilds <<<<<< Bedard.

Kazmir > Felix

Shields > or = to Bedard

Don't underestimate James Shields... Last year was just his first full year in the MLB, and his K/BB and BB/9IP were absolutely outstanding...

Kaz is currently better than Felix, that might not last long... Kaz will probably be off the Rays by time Felix reaches him (another 2 seasons).

I know Shield is good. But to say he is better than or even equal to Bedard is absurd.

One of the best pitching matchups I saw last year was Shields vs. Bedard. Shields pitched 9 shutout innings and lost when the bullpen gave up a homerun to Huff. Bedard went 7 innings and struck out 10.
I think Bedard is slightly better, but it is not absurd to think otherwise. Shields has a dominating changeup and good control. He also rarely has poor starts and goes deep into games. I thought he was better than Kaz last year.

You're both wrong. The best 1-2 right now is Webb/Haren.

I never said it was the best I just said

And Baltimore denies it:
Orioles Deny

General Manager Andy MacPhail denied Sunday night that the Baltimore Orioles have agreed to a deal that would send ace pitcher Erik Bedard to the Seattle Mariners for a package headed by young center fielder Adam Jones according to the Baltimore Sun.

"We do not have an agreement with the Mariners," said MacPhail, Orioles president of baseball operations. Bedard's agent also said he had no knowledge of a completed deal.

Reports of the deal started Sunday after The Seattle Times said Jones told a reporter in Venezuela that he was ordered by the Mariners to pull out of the winter league playoffs there because he was headed to Baltimore to get a physical. MacPhail disputed that, saying Jones was not coming to the Warehouse for a physical.

I just don't understand Baltimore's logic. Leo is a wiz at getting the most from a pitcher, but in order to get that, you have to keep them around long enough.

Baltimore has got to be one of the worst run clubs in the league.
