Has anybody heard anything from anyone in the Saints organization about losing a home game to London? I want to hear what they have to say.

They will say nothing until Friday, I'd expect.
That is when the press conference is officialy revealing the contenders in the game, although the leak to a San Diego paper by the Chargers GM has spilled the beans.
The Saints are doing what they have probably been told and not acknowledging it until the official announcement. You never know, they might change their minds by Friday as its not officially us playing until they say so.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'respond'. From everything i've read about the process, the Saints had to agree to play this game over there for it to be scheduled.

By respond I mean give the fans and season ticket holders an explanation of why they think this is a good move for the saints

The NFL doesn't like info to be leaked prior to their pre Super Bowl "state of the league" address. I doubt any official news one way or another will come from the Saints prior to that...as zorro stated.

Well, lets just hope they rebound like the Giants did. They played overseas this year and they are in the Superbowl. So it obviously cannot effect your season all that much. That being said, losing a home games is a definite downside.

Yeah I want to hear the organisations spin on this also. However I am more than delighted we are playing in London, it being a short hour flight on a plane away & a sister who will accomodate me. Sorry New Orleans!!
Look I know a lot of you feel strongly on this & rightly so. However this isnt as bad as you would think.

When they're told.

While there's been an exception or two of late, this franchise is paranoid to being with, obsessed with media control, and generally ham-fisted when it makes a public move. If you think they're getting ahead of the curve on this one with fan-friendly annoucements full of honest realism, and before the official NFL annoucement schedule, you're betting against pretty steep odds.

While I am very happy for our fellow fans in Europe and the UK, and certainly one can and should look for the positives in any situation, let's also not make this into some great lucky break, either. It pretty much ***** for us. The Dolphins knew they were already in a rebuilding mode last year, with the season pretty much under the bus anyway, so "getting it out of the way" and tossing the home game may have been palatable.

By contrast, next year we're trying to fight back into NFC South leadership and the playoffs. With the state's political and economic situation, we're on double-secret probation every year, and losing a home game and/or having our rhythm thrown way off aren't going to help. What's the one thing NFL coaches stress? Routine. What's the thing they worry about losing with long cross-country trips, night games and short weeks? Routine.

There's several reasons nobody's lining up to lose a home game overseas. Let's not sugarcoat this.

I know everyone's supposed to have a turn, and I'm happy for the ex-pats and non-US fans who are excited to see the team in London. But for this franchise, at this stage in its history, this is simply not a positive development, plain and simple. We can't afford another season of lost momentum from some bizarre turn of events. It is critical for the life of this team in Louisiana and the Gulf South that we be consistent and competitive on the field over the next three to four years, competing for playoffs (if not building for a Super Bowl run while the NFC remains at least a little down) or the franchise-sustaining public energy might not sustain.

We have luxury box, game-day revenue and stadium days of reckoning looming in the next two-four years. Our margin for error is a lot smaller than almost every other franchise, save perhaps Jacksonville, whose team appears up-and-coming at this critical time. While we jog in place, Indy, Dallas, the two New York City teams and likely Minnesota are coming on line with new revenue-stream arenas. We are not yet locked into this region long-term, not by a long shot, and we absolutely remain under the microscope. A couple of more 7-9 seasons could well end the franchise in Louisiana. Don't think it can't happen.

From what I understand EVERY team agreed that EACH team will play a game abroad.

So as far as owing the fans an explanation............they don't.

Yes, they do. Why can't it be one of our AWAY games that's being played in London?

The San Diego Chargers will get all of the "benefits" that we do as far as worldwide exposure, yet they still get all eight of their home games.

It is simply not fair, and I cannot express how angry I am about it.

So, all you're saying is your upset and that it should be someone else's "problem" Screw them, the Saints are all that matter? One NFL team is going to be screwed no matter what...this just happened to be our year.
