MIAsmall.gif
Miami Dolphins - DE Chris Long, Virginia

Jason Taylor gets older, and Chris Long is the safest player to give 30+ million dollars.
==
02.
STLsmall.gif
St. Louis Rams - DT Glenn Dorsey, Louisiana State

Taking Dorsey allows Carriker to move outside and strengthens the defensive front at two positions.
==
03.*
OAKsmall.gif
Oakland Raiders - RB Darren McFadden, Arkansas

Al Davis loves gamebreaking speed and McFadden should workout very well.
==
04.*
ATLsmall.gif
Atlanta Falcons - QB Matt Ryan, Boston College

It may be a weak QB class but the Falcons still have to start over at QB .
==
05.*
KCsmall.gif
Kansas City Chiefs - OT Jake Long, Michigan

The Chiefs offensive line is in shambles, never really replacing left tackle Willie Roaf.
==
06.
NYJsmall.gif
New York Jets - DE Derrick Harvey, Florida

The Jets have a sorry pass rush, Harvey is underrated now, but wait for workouts.
==
07.
NEsmall.gif
New England Patriots - LB Dan Connor, Penn State

The Patriots have a desperate need at inside linebacker, Connor is low risk and high character.
==
08.
BALsmall.gif
Baltimore Ravens - CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Tennessee State

Cromartie was the defensive MVP of the Senior Bowl . With workouts coming, this sprint champ could fly up the board.
==
09.
CINsmall.gif
Cincinnati Bengals - DE Vernon Gholston, Ohio State

Justin Smith likely will leave in free agency and the Bengals would love to tab this edge rusher to replace him.
==
10.
NOsmall.gif
New Orleans Saints - DT Sedrick Ellis, Southern California

The Saints need to get more from their front four and Ellis fits their scheme well.

For the rest of the 1st round:

For those who follow the draft closely, Draft Daddy's blog always has some interesting links and just about every article related to the draft.

Here are 2 interesting links:

N.F.L. History: Pro Football Hall-of-Famers, sorted by draft pick.

Anonymous Browns scout calls Tulane running back Matt Forte a "carbon copy" of Cleveland running back Jamal Lewis.

this is a realistic look at what can happen. (take notes SR guys that put out outlandish stuff).

would be nice

If it falls that way I will be a very happy man. By drafting Ellis coupled with the signing of a CB in FA (hopefully) the saints will be able to go after a LB and pass rusher in the second and third rounds. The D could look a lot better......... Sigh well one can dream

No way Ellis falls that far. He probably will be a top 5 pick.

Nice work... try making the names of the players clickable with a bio.

'Pratically' pub quality work.

I don't see how he can boost Cromartie and Harvey's stats based on Senior Bowl performance and workouts, but seemingly drops Ellis for no good reason? If ANYONE has shown any reason so far that they should be climbing way up the board, it's Ellis.

It's hard to tell if Ellis will be a top 5 pick or be there at #10 when the Saints draft. Ellis definitely raised his stock at the Senior Bowl, but how many teams in the top 10 need a defensive tackle that plays in the 4-3 defense?

-The Rams could take either Dorsey or Ellis, but one would be left over.

-Oakland, but I don't think Al Davis passes on McFadden with Fargas being a free agent and Lamont Jordan's subpar season.

-Falcons already have one good DT

-Possibly the Chiefs, but their O-line is a bigger need.

-Jets and Patriots run a 3-4 defense and the Bengals also if the reports are correct.

I think the mock draft is a realistic scenario that is possible, but there is now way to know what will happen

I dont think Miami would pass on Dorsey or Ryan, but C Long isnt that unrealistic.

Derrick Harvey isnt top 10, especially to a 3-4 team.
Rodgers-Cromartie is good but not his cousin, not a top 10, not the best CB in the draft.
As jazmc said, how can they move Harvey and Rodgers-Cromartie up almost an entire round based on the senior bowl, but move Ellis down?

I think Draft Daddy got a little too caught up in the Senior bowl, and of course anything can happen from now until the combine and then draft, but I just dont see it going down this way IMO. But I would love to get Ellis though.

What is your point?

Ellis falling isnt as big of a stetch as Harvey or Rodgers-Cromartie going in the top 10, or Miami taking C Long.
