Hi everyone!! Geoff's wife here...been lurking for years but thought I'd post and tell you guys that we're in this great city for 13 weeks for my job. I'm sooo excited!! I've been here several times but only during football season to see the Saints ( been a fan since I could say Saints). It's so cool being here and seeing the places that you guys are always talking about. Geoff's at work right now but I'm not so thought I'd say hi ya'll and thanks for the daily entertainment!

Shannon

P.S. any tips on 'must do' things would be great. besides mardi gras obviously.

Just for the record. None of us here like Geoff. We just let him think we do.:p

My first thought would be a nice live show. A nice quite venue or a wall slammin happenin jernt. Whatever suits you. During Mardi Gras, there are usually many concerts during the day. Grab the Offbeat mag where ever you can find it. It's all over the city.

You just got there last week, you are only going to be there for 3 months, and Geoff already has a job? Um, yeah, that kind of attitude isn't going to fly around there. Besides, how are you going to go do all these great things if you are just going to work all the time?

I'll have to check that out. btw I found out yesterday that driving in the rain is a real experience down here.

I work 3 twelve hour shifts a week and live in down town...plenty of time to see some of the city. And Geoff has chef experience...plenty of jobs to be had.

Check out the What's for lunch/restaurant reviews thread. Go to Rio Mar for lunch if you're already downtown. :17:

Welcome to New Orleans, Geoff's wife. :)

From your post, I'm guessing you aren't originally from here. Maybe Geoff has already told this story somewhere here, but I'm always curious as to how people outside of NO became Saints fans.

Born in Morgan City and raised in Monroe. Watched the games sitting at my Paw Paw's feet every week.

Cool. Sounds like traveling nursing?

Oh, and I was just kidding. Y'all should have a great time while you're there.

You got it...been traveling for 2 years and seeing the country but may stay for next football season.. we'll see how it goes. Having a blast so far but living in downtown might get claustro eventually. Geoff cracked up when he saw you're post. lol
