Denver wants to hire Sean, its up to Sean now (1 Viewer)

Man of all places. It’s gonna be the Niners pick this year and a 3rd I know it and I’m gonna puke
If it is Denver, I predict it will be the Niners 1st round pick in 2023, Denver's second 3rd round pick in 2023 (pick #69) AND Denver's 1st round pick in 2024. (I could see the Saints only getting back a 2nd round pick in 2024, but I think they should REALLY push for that 1st round pick in 2024.)

He should sign for $28 million a year, 3 years guaranteed and a 3 year team option for another 3 years at $28 million per year. Maybe do a $3.28 million signing bonus as well.

He put the second interview with Denver on hold. He’s probably not sure about Russ.

you all act like this is payton's decision...did you all forget the Saints Organization has to approve the compensation...He not getting squat until Mrs B's team says its a go...
They already stated that they wouldn't hold him hostage. This is why we aren't expecting a kings ransom.

Russ is the best current option out there of current teams in terms of overall roster and QB. Unless he wants to go the Houston route and gamble with a rook qb. He has had a whole year to evaluate, so this about logistics or another team (more money).

I don’t think the traditional timelines apply. Any team that would hastily hire another HC because Payton can’t be at the Senior Bowl (a mostly irrelevant spectacle that the GM can easily attend) is the dumbest team in the NFL.

This is going to drag out.

If Sean is smart, he will go back to Fox Sports and sign in 2024. I think we will see perhaps, 1 or 2 coaching retirements in 2024. At KC, Rams, Pittsburgh, and NE. All 4 teams have good rosters, and great front offices. Dream jobs.

Sean is money in 2024, why settle now on Denver?

We need the pick(s) so I hope he takes the job. But Payton is smart enough to consider the picks the team is giving up in his evaluation of chances of success. If he thinks he can get Wilson back on course and not have to draft a QB, this makes sense. If he doesn't think Wilson is the guy, he probably passes on Denver.

Jeff Duncan went on a Denver radio show last night and said the Payton 2nd interview with Denver was delayed because Rob Walton was on a hunting trip. Duncan got roasted by the Denver media and fanbase.

Broncos will sign Payton for $28 mil per year for 3 years. He will probably take someone with him from the Saints. Just putting it out there but not confirmed.

Just when Duncan was gaining some momentum to his credibility, it takes a big blow. That’s embarrassing to have his report called out by Broncos’ reporters like that.
