Eli's escape and the Tyree catch was the play of the season (1 Viewer)

Season? We're going to see that every year for the next 20 years come February.

I don't mean to sound like a homer, but that looked very Roethlisberger-esque (Eli's escape, that is).

The circus catch took made it two highlight reel plays and put them in the same play.

I don't remember any Eli Manning-esque play by Roethlisberger in their Super Bowl.

It was a great play from the two. I also like how Eli escaped a sack earlier in the game, only to overthrow Plaxico, kind of like Drew against the Falclowns.

We have the Imacculate Reception, The Catch, etc. But this play made me do loops like those others. I'm going to refer to it is as the Great Escape.

That catch reminded me of the catch by the Alabama receiver. Very similar but the Alabama catch was even more difficult and for a TD.

Just as the thread states, I told my family that it was the play of the season in my eyes. Everything about it was awesome. The great escape, the hail mary type pass, the awesome catch where at one point it was one hand holding the ball against his helmet, it was an awesome play. I would vote it play of the year.

I said almost the exact same thing after that play, but I said, "The Escape."

News people love brevity, and it goes sickeningly well with The catch, the drive, etc.

Its an easy one, and it will most likely be known for a very long time.

Why do you guys torture me like this? I can't believe I missed that play.

I think it officially needs to be dubbed "The Great Escape". Who's with me?

That catch, to me, ranks right up there with the Immaculate Reception.

Seriously, folks. It's been a long time in terms of NFL history that we had a Superbowl like that. Remember it.

Every generation gets that 1 superbowl that goes down in history. This generation just got theirs.

Are you kidding? That was a page out of his Daddy's playbook. I thought I was looking at Archie.
