Mike Thomas Approves of Carr (1 Viewer)

I'll PayPal you $50 if you can find the erratic throw vs Carolina that got MT13 injured.

The criteria are: he has to be visibly injured off of a bad pass and he has to come off the field immediately afterwards.
So what you’re saying is it’s only a legit injury if he had to come immediately off the field?

Is that the case for all season ending injuries?

You think MT could've played an entire drive with this going on inside his shoe?

Because he played an entire drive where he didn't get targeted before he left the game

Also how does someone throw someone into doing this to their foot? Did he have a pass called a toe twister or something?

Bruh...like I'm so tired of reading that...everybody keeps repeating that. Must be from the same universe as AKs fight video with the carnivorous singing ficus.
Understood. I won’t double down on that and I’ll retract my recollection or how Thomas was injured since it’s actually not relevant to anything. Thomas was injured in a game and that it was significant enough to end his season after a setback in his rehab. How it happened doesn’t matter. So I’ll stop repeating something that I can’t validate on here.

IF Mike stays, how many wide receivers will we keep and who are they? I ask the latter because I dunno if Deonte is still under contract. But IF he is, we keep SIX cause he’ll b the “starter” at KR/PR. So, Mike, CO, Sheed n Harty make 4. The other 2? For now, on paper, probably Trequan n Kirkwood. But IMO there’s likely gonna b lotsa competition for those last 2 spots! We’ll see!

We keep 6 WRs and we currently have 7 under contract.

1. Michael Thomas
2. Chris Olave
3. Rashid Shaheed
4. Tre'Quan Smith
5. Keith Kirkwood
6. Kirk Merritt
7. Kawaan Baker

Callaway is a FA and he should be gone.
Landry is a shell of himself and injury prone now. If he's retained you have to plan on some time missed to injury.
Kawaan Baker was re-signed.
Keith Kirkwood was re-signed.

I'd say the top 3 are safe with TQS somewhat safe as well. We currently don't have a backup X for MT. Merritt and Baker play ST, but are similar builds so they might be battling for the same roster spot. Did the conversion to RB stop for Merritt or is that ongoing? I don't know so maybe Merritt is a RB now.

I would say we draft at least 1 big X WR with speed. 6'3" 200lbs or bigger with a 4.46 40 or faster, big hands, long arms, and a 35" or higher vertical. I'd also bring in a similar skillset late in the draft or UDFA to develop on the PS. Add another UDFA returner so Shaheed can convert to full-time WR.

Projected:
1. MT (X)
2. CO (Y,Z)
3. RS (Y,Z, KR, PR)
4. TQS (X,Y,Z)
5. Rookie Big/Fast X
6. Kirkwood or Baker (here due to familiarity with the system, but can be upgraded in draft)

RB3/4: KM

PS:
Developmental X
Developmental Y
Developmental Z

Is that Will Levis' toe? He played through that most of the season.

Saints and Thomas have the parameters of a reworked deal in place. Don’t know the specifics but it’s essentially a 1 year deal worth around 10-12 million with some void years. Basically a prove it deal that allows Thomas to reset his value if things work out injury wise. Allows the Saints to push the cap hit and give it one more go to see if they can get the Thomas of old. Gives Thomas a chance to work with a veteran QB that can hopefully utilize him the way Brees did, or at least to some affect. Not a Thomas fan but makes sense. Thomas doesn’t have to learn a new offense and the Saints get some time to push his dead cap charge.

IDK I just looked up dislocated great toe...that's what popped up. Who's off target balls was he trying to catch to mess it up like that? Kidding aside, QB is different from WR though...QBs especially pocket passers arent putting that much torque in their feet cutting etc.

True, but stepping into a throw with a toe like that and a metal plate to keep the cleat from flexing must have made it hard to be accurate and probably cut down on some mobility too.

Aw, man. You better not falsely have my hopes up. That sounds like a very plausible possibility.

U lost me at, "not a Thomas fan". Due to personality? I'm sure that u will just say "injuries" instead of saying it with your chest. He is a top 4-8 WR in the league. When healthy.

If Landry is a shell of himself and you have to plan for him to miss time due to injury...

How is that any different than MT?
