I think its a discussion that merits order, but should not jack Keggers thread.

Personally I think Eli is a better QB than Roethlisberger, who benefits from a Good Oline, a Good Defense and a good running game generally every year.

Both are good leaders, and they are great game managers, but I think Eli's season this year proves he is better.

He had to go on the road in the playoffs to the who's who of media love QB's and America's team of the future, and the past, he had to beat Tony Romo in Dallas, Then he had to go beat the packers and Brett Farve in Green bay in January, (how many QB's have done that?) Oh and then he had to knock off America's Golden Boy and the best team ever, favored by two touchdowns, the next joe montana, Tom Brady, and America's Patriots. Oh and Eli did that in style, with a last minute fourth quarter drive where he is fighting and gritty, and yes the rest of his team plays excellent all night, but so does he, including a TD pass to take the lead with under a min. Which was set up by avoiding being sacked in what some call the greatest play of any super bowl.

Not to mention he ruined Brady and Moss's perfect season, Way to get your records this season fellas, shame you didn't have something new to show em in the super bowl...

gotta go with Eli.

I've only been a fan of the NFL for a couple of years, so I suppose I missed out on Ben's early prime, but I'm going with Eli.
If he can carry the huge leaps he made from Week 17 onwards to next year, he will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.

Eli's got a career rating of 73.4. Ben's is 92.5.

Eli's career TD-INT: 77 / 64
Ben's career TD-INT: 84 / 54

No contest, really. Each has won a Super Bowl title, Ben is going to a Pro Bowl.

Ben has already done those things and is a force in the NFL.

Maybe Eli has better potential in some people's minds, but as of today - from a career standpoint, Ben is the better quarterback.

I think you can pick either of the 3 on that draft. Even with ups and downs Rivers is also a quaterback with a solid future.

I think this one is a pick based on preferences, I see the 3 of them equally as good.

Its certainly a contest CJ,

Stats dont always tell the whole story.

Pitts has had a MUCH better Defense than NY the entire time they have been in the league

So far I would have to say Ben is better. Eli had a heck of a 5 game stretch that still mystifies me. If Eli comes out next year and continues that level of play then he would certainly be better and one of the best right up there in the top 5 of current QB's.

Speaking of Eli, anyone know when his contract is up? I see his cap $$ is only making $1.6 mil which is 20th on the Giants team.

I'd like to add that Ben was asked early in his career to manage games, thus, he was only required to throw 10-15 times a game. Eli, on the other hand, has been gun-slinging since day 1. So I agree, stats don't always tell the whole story.

Though at this point, I would have to side with Eli because he is finally showing he is worth that #1 pick a few yrs back. He was Mcnabb-esque, escaping those sacks during the super bowl.

Just because you throw the ball 15 times per game doesnt' mean your "managing" it.

Look, for instance, at this game:
Passing CP/AT YDS TD INT
B. Roethlisberger 13/16 209 5 0

IMO I dont believe this is even a question. Eli deserves all the credit for playing turnover- free ball the last several games but their team win is thanks to their front 7 and isnt to the sudden emergence of Eli as a great QB. Who is surprised Giants scored 17 compared to NE scoring 14? Ben scores 40 and nobody blinks, Eli does and its news. I think this is just SB hype. Without the kind of game the Giants D had, Eli would have lost by 20+ and no way this question is asked.

No. "As of today" is Eli's playoff run and Superbowl victory, a stretch of play superior to what Roethlisberger put together when the Steelers went to the Superbowl (and has failed to repeat since then). "As of today" Eli appears to be the better QB then Roethlisberger. "From a career standpoint" Ben is better, sure, but "As of today" it's Eli.

Exactly, he was MANAGING it. That was the game he was playing in really horrible conditions. He only through for 16 times and yet he managed to get 5 tds, all which came from opponent playing bad defense. I don't think any coach would go out and tell their qb to keep throwing in that weather, except GB.

Watch :24 seconds into the video highlights. That's bad defense? If that's "bad defense", then Eli gets no credit for his escape from the Patriots blitz, because it must've been "bed defense" as well.

The second TD 1:00 in, was thrown into a tight spot between 2 defenders. No bad defense there.

....I could go on.....

Eli played very well. He just hasn't done it long enough yet for it to be anything more that a hot streak.
