FWIW, here is McShay's newest mock draft. Sorry if you don't subscribe to ESPN Insider:

1. Miami Dolphins -- Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College

2. St. Louis Rams -- Chris Long, DE, Virginia

3. Atlanta Falcons** -- Darren McFadden*, RB, Arkansas

4. Oakland Raiders** -- Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU

5. Kansas City Chiefs** -- Jake Long, OT, Michigan

6. New York Jets -- Vernon Gholston*, DE, Ohio State

7. N.E. Patriots (from 5-11 San Francisco) -- Leodis McKelvin, CB, Troy

8. Baltimore Ravens -- Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC

9. Cincinnati Bengals -- Derrick Harvey*, DE, Florida

10. New Orleans Saints -- Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida

Record: 7-9 | Needs: CB, MLB, DT, OLB, TE
Previous mock selection: Kentwan Balmer, DT, North Carolina
Cornerback and linebacker are the Saints' biggest areas of need, and Jenkins is the best athlete available at those positions. His combination of size, speed and athleticism is outstanding, and his recognition skills continue to improve each season. Jenkins also brings versatility to the table, since he can play some safety and chip in on returns. If New Orleans uses this pick on a corner, it should find much better value at linebacker early in Round 2.

By the way, he has Rivers and DRC going at the very end of the first round. Notable absences from round 1 are Kenny Phillips and Dan Conner.
That would be nice if we could pick one of them up in Round 2.:9:

Jenkins better shine at the combine. I _really_ liked watching DRC at the Senior Bowl in person. (And yes, as someone who once lived in north Tampa near USF I have followed their season).

why would the Ravens take Ellis?

Can Ellis fit their system? I thought that the entire thought process of him dropping down to our reach or position was because many of the D's in front of us ran the 3-4? Right?

That would be awesome...

I'm telling you guys, Mike Jenkins is a very good man corner...

And last year was the first time he ever returned a kickoff... 100 yards and a TD on the first shot... (Average was dragged down by a 3-yard return later in the year when he was trying to run out clock and secure the ball, but with the little number of returns he had it's really unimportant.)

Not really; he's 6'1; to play in the 3-4, you'd ideally be 6'4+. Also they drafted Haloti Ngata 2 years ago. They have bigger needs, but, if they were looking for an end, I'd think Kentwan Balmer would make a better fit. I'm warming up to him, in the event that we can't get Dorsey or Ellis.

Mike Jenkins is a HUGE upgrade over his last draft, when he had us taking Kentwan Balmer, North Carolina

Atlanta - McFadden?

Miami - Ryan?

Baltimore - Ellis?

I am getting sick of people saying Beck is not the answer. The only time you saw him play was on the road with the worst team in the league. This draft isn't very well thought out.

I think the Ravens would be more in play for Mike Jenkins than Ellis. The Ravens primary needs are at QB and CB. I could see them opt for Jenkins. I think this was a case of McShay not wanting to have Ellis fall too far and so he stuck him somewhere. I think Ellis could work as a NT in a 3-4, but I think he's most effective in a 4-3 defense.

Actually, they run a 3-4 defense. I did not even click on the link from ESPN, but you can hardly trust anything they tell you. Here is a copy of the Ravens' depth chart showing a 3-4 defense.

You can't see Miami taking a QB or Atlanta taking McFadden? I could see that happening in a heartbeat. Those are positions for both of those teams that sucked last year to say the least.

They also have Chris McAlister, Samari Rolle, and BJ Sams at CB.
