Early this morning a preschooler, a kindergartener, and a 4th grader at the school district I teach in were killed along with their grandmother by a drunk driver who was driving down the wrong side of a divided highway.

Their mother was in a different car right behind them and watched it all unfold. She lost all of her kids and her mother in a blink of an eye.

Needless to say, there are a lot of shaken teachers/students trying to make sense of all this.........

If you find the time, say a prayer for them tonight...............

Will do. :(

Oh my, I'm so sorry to hear of this, about ten years ago I was nearly struck by someone speeding the wrong way down the highway, I can't imagine what that woman felt seeing that happen, I really don't what to say other than I'm sorry for that family.

that is just awful, can't imagine what the mom is going through.

If this doesnt convince people not to drink and drive nothing will. Will even say one for the driver, I cant imagine:covri:

He was not seriously injured. He has been charged with four counts of felony negligent homicide and second-offense driving-while-intoxicated. Bond was set at $200,000 according to news reports.

That is terrible. Sounds like it has been a bad 24 hours to live in Arkansas.

If those where my kids and my family he wouldn't stay that way for long.

uggghhhh...that is so horrible!

How sad. As a mom, I cannot imagine the horror of it all, especially having it happen right in front of you. And those kids are just about the ages of my kids (4th grader, 1st grader, preschooler). :(

Gotta go give my sleeping kids another kiss right now...

Because when you are drunk, your body doesn't tense up before an accident leading to less injury. The drunker a person is the more likely to survive a head on collision. Also the faster you go the better your chances of survival in a head on as well. So when you see that drunkard veer into your lane, stomp on the gas.
