N/S Panthers released Dan Morgan and Mike Wahle (1 Viewer)

Dan Morgon is good for like 2 preseason games and he's done for the rest of the year.

Mike Wahle was one of the top free agent signings a few years ago when they signed him away from the Green Bay Packers.. What's happened to him?

I'd take Morgan over Shanle at WLB definately.

Well yeah! I'd take Morgan at any LB position over any player we currently have on the roster that plays LB... when Dan is healthy... but that's the catch.... he's never been 100% healthy for an entire season. Morgan might have been one the best LB's in the NFL had it not been for all of the injuries.

Question is... with the current state of our LB corps... (which on a scale of 1-10 I rate at a 1 currently)... is Morgan worth signing to a one year deal? Because when he's healthy (which to date has been never) he'd easily be our best defensive player (sadly).

Vet minimun. No guarantee.

I might try Morgan on a 1 year deal, but not at the expense of doing serious upgrade work on the LB corps. This cannot be another Brian Simmons.

According to Panther fans... He was not that good, and only made the Pro-Bowl due to crazy Packer fan votes and their loyality for his 7 years of service there. Take it FWIW.

I have to admit.... as much as I am certain it will not work out for us... I would love to see the Saints sign Morgan to a one year deal. I guess it's just the gambler in me. I know that there's a 1 in 1000 chance that he can stay healthy for a whole season... but with the LBs we have now... it's a gamble I'd take based on his talent. JMO.
