(almost) All things Madden (by request) (1 Viewer)

hooray....now they can repackage 08 into a 09 case and change the rosters

Fully licensed All Pro Football 2k13. Wooopiee.

If EA don't get their act together on Madden, many people who previously only played games for it will lose out, and EA will lose big money. I have probably bought 3 or 4 EA titles a year for the past 3 or 4, but recently it's only because of little or no alternative.

Unfortunatly it seems their sales only go up each year. Until that stops, they have no real reason to change the formula.

I think I'm off Madden until something changes drastically.

I'll get my football fix from Backbreaker if I have to. But I won't support more crappy football games with my $$$.

I hope Backbreaker works out. I really hope they don't get too creative with the control scheme, etc. From reading the site and the developer blogs, they seem to not only have the baddest looking physics engine ever, but are totally rethinking football gaming from square one.

I'd be very happy if backbreaker:madden turns out like skate:tonyhawk.

Agreed.

i bought madden this year and didnt play it, I never even took the game out of the pack. i doubt i buy it this year.

it's just too bad the sheeple of amerkah don't care about the quality of the game......

"hey, it's madden....must be allsome"

and i read in game informer that the all-pro series may not be back.....

i hate EA sports now, although i just bought tiger woods 08

The last Madden I bought had Ray Lewis on the cover. Before that I was a devout Madden player buying it opening day every year. However I did buy the College Football one last year and am still enjoying that one quite a bit.

As a gamer I hate it but it's a good move by EA. Take all the money that was going to go into R&D for the madden series and instead use it to lock out competition. I'm surprised the NFL hasn't slapped together their own game studio and kept the license all to themselves. NFL in Europe shows they're looking for new sources of revenue and it's not like the game has to be any good to sell.

Terrible. I hate that they can do this. There's no motivation. Anyone know if the 2k series is going to do this with the MLB as well? MVP baseball 2005 for xbox=greatest baseball game ever and 2k killed it just as EA killed NFL 2k.

I skipped Madden Lite :)hihi:) in 2006, when it was the first Madden on a next-gen console. I purchased Madden in 07 and that will be the last Madden I buy until after 2012 (at least). If EA has the exclusive licence with the NFL, I will not purchase Madden, as the new features don't even bring it up to par with what they were producing 6 or 7 years ago.

It sucks too, but I get an itch and want to play an NFL game every now and then, but I just can't follow the other lemmings off the side of the cliff. :hihi:

A source close to the negotiations said it was at a spring 2004 off-site meeting attended by top NFL officials that the league determined it would take the league license exclusive. GameSpot was told the league put the license up for bid and that EA was among as many as five software publishers competing for it.

Blame the NFL not EA, they just out bid everyone. It was the NFL who wanted to sell the rights ...
