...the Saints ended up with Super Mario and Adrian Petersen the following year?

First of all we would not have reached the NFC championship game. But boy we would have looked like true contenders for 2008!

I know this is hind sight but fate could have delt us other cards. This said I am extremely happy with Bush on our team, but unhappy we only have 1 quality DE.

There is still hope for Will and Chuck to be elite DEs if they just slim down a little. We don't need 4 300 pounders on the defensive line. Charles and Will both have excellent instincts and locate the ball extremely well, but they are just too slow.

I agree -- our pass rush was hurt because of 2 things -- no one was afraid of our DT's making a push to the QB so they revised there blocking

Mario/Charles/Will would, if they all played the way they can, be one of the all time top defensive end rotations.

I don't know about AD being so successful with Nesbit and Stinchcomb over Hutchinson and McKinnie.

So the addition of one DE in place of Bush would of made us true contenders? We'll be true contenders in 2008 regardless.

If Bush hadn't fallen to the Saints, word is that the Saints were dead-set on taking AJ Hawk.

Absolutely and if the Saints would have taken the Jets offer we could be looking at A.J. Hawk and Demarco Ryans, plus a player in the 2nd or 3rd round for Bush.

We'd still have had the same problem: no one at DT that could make the big difference, so what good would Mario been to us even if we had taken him? It wouldn't have changed anything on our defense IMHO. Now having AJ Hawk certainly would have been a big plus, but anyone who thinks we don't need Bush on our offense is kidding themselves.

I can't say I'm following the logic of how we'd have ended up with Adrian Peterson since he was taken 20 spots before we picked.

Talk about your hypothetical questions. Maybe Drew's with another team and we'd be picking right behind the Fins.

Nope

What if in one hand and POO in the other and tell me which one weighs more... this should help.
