If he becomes available, why not make a push to get him back here with us because he has better hands than Devery Henderson and more speed. Don't talk about his professionalism because I think most of that was do in part to Joe Horn, trust me most of y'all probably don't wanna believe it but Joe Horn was the reason why he developed that diva type of attitude because he certainly wasn't that in college or even his first year here. I think we should give him another chance to play here especially with Drew Brees, we would have any even more potent offense than what we had. I truly think that Donte' Stallworth would wanna play for us to.

No. This is the NFL and he had his chance to show the coaching staff what he could do and he didn't. Even Phili didn't try to keep him. He was lucky to get playing time in NE. He could end up staying in NE if they don't keep Moss.

He may cost too much plus we still don't know what Meachem can do yet

The Patriots already advised him that they wasn't paying his eight million dollar option, so he will be a free agent.

This doesn't mess up Meachem playing time because if he is good enough than he will get on the field. What happen to people wanting to create competition for job and not just being given one because you are the first round draft pick. It is time that everyone starts earning their position starting with Robert Meachem, Marques Colston did it.

I would say yes, but it depends on his attitude. I do think Horn was a big problem and created the Stallworth that was here, but he's been around better people now and he's lost that attitude. I think he's learned a lot after being with the Eagles and then the Pats. I think he knows how good our offense could be with him in the mix. Colston, Meachem, Stallworth would be a tough 3 for teams to cover.

I don't think there was any ill will between payton and stallworth, so if he became available and the Saints wanted to bring him in, they would. That being said, the WR that I wouldn't mind seeing the Saints look at is Jerry Porter from Oakland. He is a free agent and wouldn't break the bank to bring him in. Some may say he will cause problems, but I believe that his issues were more about being in Oakland then anything. He would be a good receiver opposite Colston.

I do agree about Jerry Porter. He might be another veteran WR that could come in and produce. The last WR that wasn't happy in Oakland seems to have done pretty well when he ended up on a good team and a good QB.

I think reguardless if the pats keep him or not he isn't gonna come cheap. Our defense is awful and would like most of the money addressed. Plus Stallworth was very very very immature here. He will get one wide money to simply stretch the field because he dosen't make those tough catches for ya. Plus he has his fair share of drops and is not the most sure handed WR by any stretch.

I say no to him, and posted pretty much the same thing that is in "Woulda you" thread 10 or so down.

Frankly, and I like the guy, he just isn't that good. Great athlete, averager reciever. And after playing for the Pats he'll get a bigger payday then we should be willing to give him.

I think he'd be a good slot guy if he can stay healthy. Smaller quicker receivers (Laverneous COles, Steve Smith, Sanata Moss, Wes Welker)... these guys change the game.

Thats what we'll be using Patten for with Meachem wideout in my opinion. Patten is a better reciever then Stallworth, even if he is old, and he'll come alot cheaper.

My heart says yes to Stallworth because I really like the guy. My head tells me he isn't worth the money or time.

I hear ya, But I don't see Stallworth going over the middle like those guys do. Stallworth likes to be on the outside running the fly routes or sit down low and catch the screen. I never saw him do the things that a Coles will do for ya, or a Welker. He pretty much plays the deep threat, dosen't block or get dirty. I think we can find a better (and cheaper) slot receiver than Donte Stallworth. The guy will get a decent size contract.

Colston is our number 1, I really wanna see Meachem get in the linup and be the 2 or 3. and I like to see us re up with Patton to fill out the role Meachem leaves open. Also take into consideration Reggie will be the one taking alot of theose dump offs and will probably catch 60 - 80 balls. Than have our young guys like Lance Moore, whoever we draft (if we do draft a WR) etc.

Our receiving situation looks fairly good as is, Stallworth would not get alot more production than he has in the past and i'd rather address the Defense than sign a guy to get us 50 catches 700 yds cause in the end I think we can find other people to do that alot lot lot cheaper.
