YOUNGEST 'PATS'
19-0 GEAR GOOD FOR SOMETHING
By TODD VENEZIA and ANGEL CHEVRESTT

February 14, 2008 -- Tom Brady, here's your alternate universe.
The "championship" shirts and hats that the New England Patriots players were set to wear had they won the Super Bowl wound up yesterday on the backs of the poor children of Nicaragua.
In just minutes, one Pacific coast town was transformed into the last bastion of Pats pride south of Foxboro.
The Pats gear had been on the scene in Arizona on Super Bowl Sunday, ready to be donned by the New Englanders if they had a chance to enjoy a locker-room celebration of a 19-0 season.

Somewhere in the world, the Buffalo Bills are known as one of the greatest teams of all time. :p

In Abidjan,... I see NFL jerseys sporadically. They are usually well worn,... although some aren't that old. I do not see too many t- shirts (or anything similar), but I do sometime see NFL baseball caps(less common than the jerseys). Most caps are MLB, especially the Yankees.

I do not know about Latin America, but it is common for people to wear the same clothing for more than one day straight. It is also common not to put on deodorant So by the end the week, they can be pretty ripe.

Nothing wrong with that, IMHO. Most of those children could care less or even know who won the Super Bowl. To those children, it's a new shirt. Better than throwing the never worn apparel in the trash.

Yes, but not every year do the shirts say "19-0"-- and not every year does a group of cheaters and miscreants like the New England Patriots get their comeuppance in such a humiliating way. :9:

What's so humiliating about sending very much needed clothing to kids and families? I seriously doubt any Patriot would find it humiliating.

Once again, most of those kids don't know a thing about the NFL, let alone, the Patriots or the Super Bowl. 19-0 may be relevant to you, but not to them.

What's relevant to them is new clothing.

Yeah, this has been going on forever...but it's still funny. :)
