This is a very relevant question, I believe with our offense it could be any of 4 backs right now. They have all showed the ability to rush.

I'm a Reggie Bush fan, and I believe given the right amount of touches he stands the best chance of being a 1200-1500 yard back. However Deuce has actually done it, and Stecker and Pierre showed promise as well.

I don't think Reggie will ever be a full-time rusher.... I'm sure he'll probably get 1000 yards combined rushing and receiving every year, I don't think he'll ever get a 1000 yard rushing season.... I love Deuce but I don't think he can keep it together for a whole season any more... so that leaves PT, who I think could definitely pull it off if he is given a bigger role in the offense.

I think Reggie or Duece will get it before PT, I would like for PT to be that guy (if Reggie isnt) but I think those two have the best chance, cause there atop the depth chart and one is an investment and talented player who will get plenty of opportunities to handle the rock....I think PT gets 400yrds this year.

It will be Reggie. No doubt. PT showed us one good game. we have no idea if he can do it week in week out. Reggie will be a star in the league and i wouldn't be surprised that in the next few seasons he's putting up more than 1500 yards easy. He will be like a Marshal Faulk/Eric Metcalf like player. Don't know why everyone has given up on the guy already. He is a rare rare talent who just needs to develop a bit more. give it time

If a similar question was asked in the offseason after the 1989 season, it would have read:

"Which quarterback will lead us to the Super Bowl?"

Bobby Hebert
John Fourcade
Dave Wilson
Other

...and Fourcade would be running away with it. I like PT, but Deuce is the main back in this offense. He rushed for over 1,000 yards after one knee was rebuilt, and I see little reason to assume he couldn't on the other one.

Terry Allen did it on two rebuilt knees and Deuce is a stronger back.

Thomas was very impressive in his start against the Bears (in his hometown, on the field where his idol played), but it's one thing to do it for a game, quite another to do it all season.

John Fourcade looked unstoppable for those last three games in '89, but against SF in 1990, he looked like a free agent quarterback who had only started 3 games (against non-strike players).

People have given up on him because they want an immediate impact, nobody likes to watch players develop, they want you to put a jersey one of the best at your position immediately....and any sign that you need to improve will be held against you, because there is supposed to be no assembly required.

I see Reggie doing it. I also see Reggie giving us 1000 yards rushing and 1000 yards receiving in the same season.

Reggie will be a 1000 yard reciever. And our slot guy this year. You heard it here first.
Duece will need to take a cut in pay to stay
Pierre Thomas had a good game last season but the defense was schemed to stop the passing game if they put 8 men in the box he will find the going tough just like everyone else. Our next 1000 yard runner is not currently on this roster and will be picked up in FA. The RB that has backed up LT in san diego comes to mind even though his name escapes me presently. He would be a good pick up. I am not saying that he will be but I would not be dissappointed to see us pic up another option at RB.

Reggie plays for 2 seasons and everyone says he will never be a running back, if he isn't injured I think he could easily rush and recieve for 1000 yards each. It takes players like reggie time to develop into a full time running back, but he will and it will probally be soon. Everyone seems to remember his bad rushing games, but he has had some amazing games running the ball until we stopped giving it to him for some reason.

Actually, I posted a thread about this 2 weeks ago. But, I really do agree. I think, however, that PT will hit 1000 yds this year. He has shown every skill I want to see in a feature RB. I'm including his preseason, which was good enough for coach to cut pittman, and his 50 carries in the regular season. The only things he has not proven yet are durability and ball protection. These can only be proven with time and carries, and I hope he gets both this year.
