He looks very sharp at the combine with nice quickness and good hands as well.
I think he is an excellent return guy as well.

Here is his combine numbers:

5'-9 1/2" 184 lbs 4.39 forty time, 36 inch vertical leap
He also put up 225 24 times which I thought was impressive for his size.

I know a lot of people like him and hoped we would select him in the draft.
Does anyone know where he is projected to go?

Here is some info from FFLivewire

When you watch Eddie Royals speed and overall skills during an actual game, you have to wonder why he ended up being only the third most productive receiver for Virginia Tech. His return skills, however, are simply unparalleled and many scouts are already comparing his game to that of Devin Hester, which is one of the main reasons his stock continues to rise as we approach the combine. Similar to Hester, every time his hands touch the ball he is a threat to score. Royal had a tremendous week at the Senior Bowl and several scouts did indeed take notice. Look for him to go somewhere in the 3rd round.

Strengths: Run after the catch skills are second to none. Played against elite competition all four years at Va. Tech. Can immediately fill in as a return man and is likely already top 10 in the NFL in that department before even stepping on the gridiron. Extremely strong for his size (it has been documented at Va. Tech that he has bench pressed over 375lbs). Great hand-eye coordination.

Weaknesses: Lacks the type of size you want for an every-down receiver. Aside from blazing speed, he was never truly a standout receiver throughout his college career. Does not do well against the press. Route running prowess needs improvement.

I think the main reason he wont be a first or second rounder is because he's not that strong pressing him might shut him down

I loved him too! He looked like a deer when he ran and he always caught the ball with his hands. I would replace him with the WR we got last year in the 1st. It's kinda sad I can't remember his name right now. ha

With a FA pickup of a DL/LB and a solid 2 rounds of defensive pickups, I'd say take a crack at him especially for his ST skills.

I heard today on Sirius being compared to Wesley Welker from the Pats.

Lets see where we stand as of now.....we want Roy Williams, then there is Javon Walker who the Broncos are rumored to get rid of.....heck maybe they want a 2nd rounder for him.....and now there is Eddie Royal who by all accounts is a good pick up in the 3rd rd....WOW!! Now that would be something if this board has its wish! It would definitely solve our WR needs for at least this next season!

After that.....we need to find another coach!!LOL!

Jerome Simpson is one heck of an athlete too.

The Saints were interested in him (at the Senior Bowl)....

Hopefully we take him in the 3rd or 4th.

IIRC he didn't drop a pass in any of the drills either, plus they were all made with his hands. Very impressive.

Something I caught was that when he ran, his head didn't move or bounce. Very smooth. He will be a good one.
